Effects of fin

I am 19 years old and I just learned the hair at my crown is thinning. I definitely do not want to deal with baldness till I am atleast 30. I am about to order minoxidil for sure and maybe a dermaroller as I’ve heard that helps bring blood flow to the hair. From what I understand though, neither of these address the root cause of hair loss, which only finasteride does. What are you guys thoughts on if it’s safe for me and if the side effects are worth it? Thanks.

When I was 19 I had complete male pattern baldness. Learn to accept it.

What do you mean accept it?
If you mean just accept I’ll be noticeably bald to others in 5 years, come on bro, you know I can’t do that 🙁

Yes, you had a longer run than some. This is part of getting older, just accept that. Don't ruin your body with drugs trying to fight nature. If your hair gets thin to a point where it genuinely bothers you, buzz your head. If it gets worse, shave it clean.

Fun story: Though I've been fully bald since around age 19, I started shaving my head in my early twenties and now everyone who met me after that thinks I'm completely bald by choice. I'll never forget one time I made a comment about being bald and the other people in the group gave me this incredulous look and one said, "You choose to be bald. Shaving your head is not the same as balding." I didn't correct them, but the fact that they all thought that made me chuckle to myself a bit.

          Do not take it.

So what I’m asking is what specifically are these side effects and how bad are they? I know it’s not as bad as your dick not working.

Are you really going to listen to this guy who was too stupid to hop on fin and instead let himself go fully bald at 19? Of course someone like that is going to say "just accept it bro" and hope that you go bald just like he did.

Yes, hop on fin. I've been on it for a couple years now with absolutely no side effects, and it's completely stopped my hairline receding any further. If you can tolerate minoxidil do it too, for me I can't because it gives me terrible pressure headaches. Dermaroller is a bit of a nuisance, and when it tried it it felt like it was doing more harm than good, but that's up to you. Try everything, especially fin which is crucial if you want to keep your hair. Don't listen to anyone who says otherwise.

Thanks for your anecdote, I appreciate it. Yeah I agree as well, from what I understand the side effects aren’t as bad as people make it out to be. I think my body has fully developed into an adult so there’s no other normal development that fin will interrupt.

Men keep experiencing puberty-related changes until like 25. You can literally still grow in height in your early 20s.

It's not really my goal to fool anyone, being bald doesn't bother me. I think I look good with a shaved head and I'm willing to openly tell people I'm bald (or did you miss that part of the story?). I just thought it was funny that there were some people who truly didn't realize I was bald because they only ever saw me with a shaved head.

If you read journal papers, finasteride increases the risk of aggressive prostate cancer. I was considering it until I read that. It is found across studies - not isolated in one.

I for one would rather live longer, than have hair.

This op. Topical finasteride has lower chance of side effects because you take a way lose dose, but it is way more expensive.

Minox can cause palpitations or other shit if you're hypersensitive to it, and probably best to avoid if you have heart/ blood pressure problems. But it's generally regarded as safer than an aspirin.

Microneedling has zero sides, except maybe an infection if you're a slob and don't clean it up accurately before and especially after using it. I personally just rinse it and throw it in a glass of water with one of those sterilizing tablets for dentures. fast as frick and never had any issues.

There are plenty of pharmaceutical options that halt hair loss. You’ve just got to decide for yourself whether or not you want to experiment with them.

Finasteride works great and is the bread and butter of most guys hair loss stacks. For extreme balders - they may have to use Dutasteride/RU58841 instead. Good luck.

Sides of finasteride are incredibly rare. My dad has been taking it for the last 20ys and his hairline hasn’t budged, he is also built like a brick shithouse so it didn’t impact muscle gain or whatever. Try taking it and if it is too much of a trade off just stop. It’s not even that expensive with a prescription (which is easy to get).

Fin is the only genuine solution. You will buy 10 years on fin shit works. Side effects are below the margin of error in all trials in older men guess why? They arent neurotic teenagers with self esteem issuesfreaking out because their hair is falling out at 19. My advice is close this thread and dont read baldlet cope ive been on fin for 3 years its literally a miracle pill. Ask anyone who talks about side effects to post their hairline and a timestamp, they wont. They never took it and now they cope. Leaving this thread now baldlets seething

I noticed my hairline going as young as 21. I debated hopping on fin because I was afraid of dick kill. Now I'm 29 and my hairline has receded. It's a shame brehs. Hopped on fin, it's been about 2 months and I haven't noticed anything, not that I expect to. My dick is working just fine, I feel no side effects. Kind of wish I had started earlier but not having a dick is a pretty steep price to pay so I don't blame myself or other guys who are hesitant. Even if I only keep my hair as is I'll be content, not everyone is blessed with a good hairline and it doesn't feel so bad now that I'm older.

Watch some of this guys videos on Fin. He backs everything he says with links in the video description. You're at a crossroads here, OP. Fin is the only thing that will curb DHT; the only thing that will curb male-pattern balding. Everything else is snake-oil, or will only yield temporary results. The earlier you start Fin, the better. Whatever decision you make, remember, it's easier to keep the hair you have versus restoring bald spots.

This is my experience with at least half a year on Fin and one month on minox
    >31
    >hair past my shoulders a little
    >thick
    >notice my bangs starting to get wispy and my temples starting to recede
    >get on fin
    >get fin dick with two 1mg pills every week
    >fall back to 1mg every Monday
    >no more fin dick
    >baby hairs start growing near my old hairline
    >no other side effects

My temples have come back in and the baby hairs have grown enough that honestly unless I pull back my hair real hard you can't tell it's receded.

The minox has really made my vortex norwood 3 almost impossible to see. I can see it because i know what to look for but honestly when I part my hair in the middle it's almost indistinguishable

      > 1 mg fin once weekly
And you still saw regrowth from just that?
I'm on fin once every other day thinking of cutting back to once every third day. I know it takes like three months for DHT to get back to baseline if you stop taking it altogether. Can any anons link some studies?

        Anonymous

Yeah I saw regrowth, I will preface this by saying I am apparently norwood 2 or 3 can't remember vortex. The fin did not really make a huge ass difference for the vortex that I saw although again I've only been on minox for a single month and now I can't really see my vortex. My temples though have seen regrowth and it's to the point that the baby hairs near my old hairline have grown long enough to start forming bangs again

I've been on fin about 2 and a half months, 1 and a half taking 1mg a day before cutting back to every other day, and I see a bunch of really small white hairs on my temples and front of my hairline but I need to look in a mirror and get a light behind them to see them. When I run my finger gently over my temple towards the back of my head it feels very weakly like rubbing against a buzzcut. Should I be optimistic yet or nah?

if I snapped my fingers and all these tiny hairs I see were fully developed I'd be completely satisfied with my result, it would look like I just had mild recession but more importantly I'd have density.

Just apply it topically, honestly I don't see any reason why you'd eat it

    hello OP,
Another fellow balding 19yo here. ive started taking fin around july. Started with 5mg per week but finetuned the dosage to 2-3mg a week. i have taken pictures and have definitely noticed an improvement.
    as for the side-effects:
i did have a weaker erections and abdomen pain the first few weeks but it went away after i lowered the dosage.
i now take 0.75mg every three days and plan to keep on using it till im 30.

i have looked into it and found out that people who get serious side effects are the ones who were already prone to it. for example, if a close relative of yours have gynecomastia then you are likely to have it as a sideeffect too. So you should definitely be wary of these things before you even consider using it.
