Eat more. Not sure which country you are in, but that will be considered underweight for your height in most militaries.
Also get used to running. You will run a lot

Running, core exercises, planks all while sleep deprived. When I went through I was in a special division of all special operations candidates and we got about 4 hours a sleep average, had to go to special “dive motivation” workouts with the disgruntled instructors, and still had to do all the other shit the normal divisions we’re doing. So marching practice for hours at a time, folding clothes for hours at a time, firefighting and then the highlight of each day was the 12 minutes they give you to shovel food in your face 3 times a day. Honestly worst 2 months of my life. I’d rather be in jail than go back.

Run a lot, get good at it, and learn to like it, otherwise you’ll have a bad time. MANY in your platoon will be in absolutely terrible shape. If you consider yourself in decent shape, it will be way more mental than physical. Work on your mental fortitude now if you know it’s a weakness. Follow directions with a good but even-keeled attitude and you’ll do fine, best of luck!

Listen here little baby. You're gonna get a lot of hurtful and degrading comments, but that ain't what I'm about. Let me just say, you are perfect the way you are. You hear me sugar? PERFECT. Don't ever change. You deserve anything and everything you want. Stay safe for me, baby girl.

When I went through Air Force BMT, most of our PT was running, with a little bit of dumb shit like mountain climbers and flutter kicks mixed in. Once in a while we did pullups, and outside of organized (and possibly supplemental) PT some dudes would dip into the dayroom occasionally and do pushups.

If you can pass a PT test before you leave, you're more than good. Your recruiter will tell you not to train, because (s)he doesn't want you to get hurt and risk not shipping.

Also a few little tips - if there's a big barrel of MREs you're grabbing from, reach your hand deep down and grab one from the middle, because people cherry-pick their favorites from the top. Do not date other military members, especially in tech school when you're sad and lonely. Any other advice I could give you is probably AFSC-dependent.

Another thing I just thought of, you will have to eat every meal in 10 minutes or less, and you will be drinking a frickton of water. If you eat at a consistent, steady pace for those ten minutes you can finish your meal no sweat and you won't be one of those kids puking all over the drill pad. Food is fuel for your day, so make the most colorful and diverse plates you can and don't be one of those morons soaking everything in ranch dressing. Drink the coffee near the snake pit so you'll be fired up and able to actually shit, the big hat people probably won't bother you there.

It’s just going to be a lot of body weight stuff and running. I did infantry OSUT about 15 years ago and had a blast. If I had to do it again the only change I’d really make would be to bring more q tips and a barber brush.

How did you like your time in the infantry? I always kinda regretted getting an office job, I think I would have been happier being outside with the boys but everyone tells me that's moronic.

All the field stuff and deployment was very awesome. All the garrison stuff was extremely gay. If I could have come back to the US for like 30 days of leave and then gone back to Afghanistan until like 3 months left on my contract I would have.

Running, waking up at terrible times just to stand outside doing nothing, trying to not bring down the overall quality of your organization
If you like to be actually helpful, advocate against separate standards for the genders

I wouldnt worry too much. They don't give the same tests and training to women as they do men.

being sassy, you'll have to show the drill sergeants who's boss right away so they don't pick on you(they'll try), so get as mouthy as possible with them whenever they try to tell you to do something.
