why can i only do like 10 MAYBE 12 chinups in a single set but I can also do 5-6 reps with 25kg attached no problem
Do you not understand calculating 1RM?
Assuming 200lbs you'd have a 1RM of around 275-285 on pullups at 12 reps per body weight.
At 255lbs and 6 reps you'd have a 1rm around 290-300.
So blatantly the only answer is that your loss of motor control is less at higher reps and lower weight. Which is extremely common m8.
There is a reason powershitters are coping.
Sure you might be able to lift big number once with incredibly shitty form, but muscular stability for multiple reps is a greater indicator of strength.

you had me until this, if you can lift a heavier weight with decent form than another person than you are stronger than that person, 1RM calculations are flawed
Mate I'm the exact same, can do Dips with 20 for 8-10 reps, take off the weight I'd probably get 12-14. Just started Chin ups again and it's a similar thing.

i myself am a powerlifter that trains weighted pushups though. its a lot of fun and i find it transfers really well to my bench.
most powerlifters can do chinups and pullups too. idk why these threads never post exercises that are actually hard like muscleups. its always the same extremely basic shit. i guess its cuz they themselves cant do any impressive calisthenics movements ie muscle-ups, one arm chinups, handstand pushups, etc.
