what is so bad about PUFAs?
saturated and trans fats give you heart disease and increase cholesterol in blood
unsaturated fats can lower heart disease risk and lower cholesterol in blood
yet see people talk about PUFAs like its drinking pure shit in golden oily form and even tiny amounts are terrible
am I missing something?
Idk but short balding bearded men with glasses tell me they're fine so I don't think they're good
Why do you samegay your own posts?
it's mostly the rancidity in seed oils, because they're heat treated, then you heat them again, huge oxidisation
PUFAs from plants are fine
OP I FORGOT TO SAY, HEATING THE OILS HIGH IN OMEGA 6 OVER AND OVER AGAIN ARE VERY VERY BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH. GET YOUR OILS NATURALLY FROM WHOLE FOODS
THAT IS ALL!
they also need to be extracted with industrial solvents and full of poison because the plant doesn't want you to digest them
>mother nature doesn't want me to ingest its oils
But wait, that should mean it's good for me, right? Why else would the Green israelite be trying to hide it from me?
Im not an expert.
Most fats are good (all in moderation)
But when seed oils are heated they become toxic in some way, causing health problems. (things like fried food)
natural sources of PUFA's are not bad, things like nuts, seeds and some meats (fish, chicken)
Thats what I have learned so far and what I tend to follow in my diet
Read what I wrote here
You're a total moron too
have a nice day moronoid
You have a nice day moron rapeseed shill
Who said saturated fats are bad for your heart?
did you idiots even read the fricking sticky to this board?
trans fats are mega bad always, sat fats are bad in high doses. people with diets high in sat fats die sooner from a plethora of health issues compared to those with low sat fats in their diet.
The sticky is fricking moronic and full of fda lies
>sat fats are bad in high doses. people with diets high in sat fats die sooner from a plethora of health issues compared to those with low sat fats in their diet
This has failed every single experimental test. Billions of dollars have spent on RCTs that tried proving this and they nearly all failed. The medical literature is replete with review papers over the past decade acknowledging this fact.
>The U.S. Dietary Guidelines recommend the restriction of SFA intake to <10% of calories to reduce CVD.
>Different SFAs have different biologic effects, which are further modified by the food matrix and the carbohydrate content of the diet.
>Several foods relatively rich in SFAs, such as whole-fat dairy, dark chocolate, and unprocessed meat, are not associated with increased CVD or diabetes risk.
>There is no robust evidence that current population-wide arbitrary upper limits on saturated fat consumption in the United States will prevent CVD or reduce mortality.

Some of the authors here even sat on previous USDA guideline committees that recommended saturated fat restriction, which is also partly why there are so many conflicts of interest on this paper.
I did keto for one month and went from norwud 1 to 4. The global elite want you to go bald and keto is their ammo.
I fry my hash browns in coconut oil
Congrats
HAHAHAHAHAHA WHO THE FRICK USES A IST STICKY AS A SOURCE LMAO KYS
I am unironically having a great ab workout as we speak hahaha
All available cardiac research.
You have no clue what you are saying.
Increased omega 6 regardless of omega 3 improved heart health when substituted for sat fat.
It does, foods like meat have PUFAs too.
None have.
I'm a biochemist working on cardiomyopathy. I would avoid seed oils as theyre calorie dense but they are definitely healthier than sat fat
You are either lying or ignorant
>I'm an ~~*expert*~~, please listen to me
You're wrong though. Try reading more than the abstracts next time. Also you can't substitute one type of fat for another in epidemiological studies. Researchers do say that, but it's post-hoc statistical frickery. Similarly worthless as results obtained through p-hacking.
This has been shown in animal models and yes, you can substitute one fat for another in epi studies, what are you talking about?
No, it's my field of study.
Ok.
Ok.
>This has been shown in animal models
People aren't mice and there are a lot of good reasons to assume that we've diverged and evolved to eat very differently from commonly used lab animals. You should also read the Methods section of those studies. They don't use normal food, they use highly processed flour, oils, and supplements. Yogurt isn't the same as flour, palm oil, and söy protein even though the macros are the same.
>you can substitute one fat for another in epi studies
To laymen (and I think researchers are also affected by this), it implies that the study says that when people substitute one type of fat for another, they become healthier. But in actuality, the people in the study who ate certain types of fats ate them as part of a whole diet (and lifestyle, etc). Only by changing your entire diet, lifestyle, environment, and perhaps genetics, could you do a comparison that's not confounded by these important variables. "Saturated fat is bad" is common knowledge among educated people, so they avoid it while maintaining overall healthier lifestyles. Also, epidemiological nutrition studies almost always use worthless food frequency questionnaires. People don't remember what they ate yesterday, yet multiple years worth of data is "collected".
In this day and age, I'd actually trust the college educated "professional" less than I would someone here, especially when it comes to anything science/nutrition/health related. The Covid 19 meme hoax showed me just how untrustworthy "doctors" and "chemists" really are lol
You're setting yourself up for failure if you insist on listening to anonymous strangers on a Serbian wifebeating forum who don't care for your well-being when it comes to making important overall decisions for your health. Are you really that naive?
post body
every thing you say is moronic and you are a subhuman

>All available cardiac research.
gotta improve your larp a bit anon
>Who said saturated fats are bad for your heart?
Every public health agency, medical school, health expert, etc.
Yes... all the ~~*experts*~~... Listen to the ~~*experts*~~... Buy their margarine, it's so much better for you!
You're an idiot
>Yes... all th-ACK
Please explain to me how saturated fats, which have been consumed for hundreds of thousands of years by humans, would suddenly cause a spike of heart attacks in the 1900s?
I also see that in the graph, high cholesterol has an inverse relationship with heart deaths. Please explain?
>Humans have been eating potato chips, fried chicken, canola oil, and butter for hundreds of thousands of years
are you moronic? people fry foods in seed oil to save money and now they look like flesh golems
Not sure if trolling or moronic? All those foods that you listed are PUFAs, aside from the butter.
Please also explain why mice who were fed a high linoleic acid of 8% had much greater fat deposits than those fed the same diet, but 1%?
idk im not a mouse
lmao imagine trusting mainstream medicine in 2022
literally better off with a tribal shaman
then how come there was no heart disease 100 years ago when people only used animal fat for cooking?
Plus saturated fats don't do that. High LDL is a symptom not a cause. Oxidized PUFAs are toxic and the reason for the rise in heart disease.
They cause imflammation even once stored in your fat tissue
no fats are bad in moderation
in the presence of maintaining or a caloric restriction, you're not going to be harmed by any fat you consume.
moron
I'm not explaining anything to you moron
Polyunsaturated fats - Fats missing many hydrogen atoms which means they can react with hydrogen atoms ( usually from H2O, very prevelant in the blood ) which creates free oxygen atoms that harm the body immensely leading to many health problems
Saturated fats - Fats missing no hydrogen atoms and are stable, used as the primary method of storing energy in every mammal due to this stability
Also there is monounsaturated fat, which is fat with only one missing hydrogen atom, which is also fairly stable because H2O cannot bond with it
OP LISTEN HERE:
YOUR BODY NEEDS PUFAS TO LIVE, IT JUST DOES. BUT IF YOU HAVE TOO MANY OF ONE KIND OF PUFA WITHOUT BALANCING WITH THE OTHER KINDS OF PUFA, YOU WILL GET SICK AND DIE.
GET A GOOD BALANCE OF OMEGA 3 TO OMEGA 6.
AIM FOR A 1:4 RATIO OF OMEGA 3 TO OMEGA 6.
THATS IT!
>YOUR BODY NEEDS PUFAS TO LIVE
It doesn't
it literally does
Why, because the fda calls them essential or whatever?
It does but according to that starch-pill guy it is such a small requirement you can basically just ignore it
Does it really matter? Multiple highly controlled RCTs have shown serious negative effects (higher mortality and or cancer rate). That's enough for me to avoid them as much as I reasonably can, the specifics don't matter
rampart oxidation.
cold pressed is fine for most things, but heat automatically means oxidation which means more inflammation for you.
PUFAs are great if raw (fish, nuts...) but bad when used for frying or processed food because they turn into trans fats. It's really that simple.
For wienering you should use saturated fat (butter, lard, coconut oil...) or monounsaturated fat (olive oil, avocado oil...)
Pure Unadulterated Fricking Alcohol
