How can I develop "farmboy" strength as an urbanite desk worker? Can I go to the park every day and move 20+ lb rocks around for 1-2 hours?

    just lift and the rest will come naturally. these guys kill most of their gains, working on a farm 8 hours a day is a cardio workout

      It’s cardio + strength. Us ISTchads never said cardio was bad, we just said cardio BY ITSELF is bad if you want to build muscle and improve your body’s look. Are you just doing cardio for mental health and cardiovascular health? That’s fine but don’t expect changes in your body’s appearance or any lean muscle even. You will just look like a smaller version of yourself but still fat/unfit. Cardio + strength is kino workout on the other hand

    manual labor workers aren't strong, the dudes you're seeing also train outside of work, if you don't work on your condition if you're not at work you will cripple yourself before retirement age, all the dudes that last are very physically active even when they're not working.

    farm boy strength is just grip strength plus abs. literally just do some kettlebell stuff, some FARMER carries, and some planks. maybe you could also by a 2x4 and some wood screws and manually screw in some screws to the board everyday. big pronators and supinators are the key to being a grip chad anyway

    I work in construction and I have a farm too. You'd have to lift things and do certain movements for 8/14 hours with 1 hour rest.

    "Farmboy strength" comes from learning how to manipulate leverages and use the strength of your joints. It's why farmers often end up basically Crippled in their older years.

    break out the sledge hammer, battle-ropes, and clubs, you uncultured milquetoast channer.

    actually do it for hours a day.

    get a kitchen job, or work construction, ride a bike around for commute. Unironically your bone density will make you 100X tougher than people who have ridden in cars their entire life.

    The idea is to be under constant duress, eventually you will adapt.

    There really is not such a thing.

    I understand where this idea comes from, because I used to wrestle against a bunch of western Kansas kids. They generally had solid wrestling programs, but it is more likely because they emphasized sports. Hardly any of them actually farmed.

    Also, most farming is AI nowadays.
