    for muscle gains you need to take the target muscles to a big range of motion. Lifts like this are just garbage volume. Unless you do full body every time and even then it's better to do lifts which the target muscles through some range of motion. A deadlift and squat will give you more gains

          Garbage volume and progressive overload are not the same thing. This exercise is similar to deadlift when done heavy enough, with a lower risk profile. Garbage volume is light weight high rep that damages joints and only exists to build cardio, which of course, has lower joint impact options. You're moronic if you wear a weight vest 24/7. Youre also moronic if you think that long term risk profile and injury nursing wouldnt warrant alternatives to optimal exercises.

            yes i recognize this but the lower risk profile is a stupid claim. Loading this exercise to any meaningful degree and then proceeding to walk is very unstable and easy to snap your shit up, just look at how strongman stumble on carry events.

    You have to do these with very heavy weight. I did them for some time with 40kg on each side and didn't really notice anything.

    If this shit actually did anything then soldiers who carry 100lbs of gear for 12 miles should be hulking monsters.

      that's because soldiers firstly do not have good nutrition and secondly are in a catabolic state and thirdly they do not recover since they are getting minimal sleep during that.

      Even despite that, soldiers generally develop ok physiques going through training. It's mostly endurance type work

    I do an alternate version than standard farmers carry. Tuck an 8” diameter log under each arm 8’-10’ is optimum length.
    Drag around the woods for an hour.
    Incorporates the chest abit more as the drag requires you to keep constant tension on your chest. Back, shoulders, back under constant tension. Again, since there is drag from behind..really fricking lights up your legs the way traditional farmers carries don’t.
    30 min-60 min a day.. 3 days a week.
    You won’t regret it, and you likely won’t bother with a traditional carry ever again
