        >forcing my body into ketosis
Did you do any cardio? Not eating for 48 hours isn't enough for ketosis, it takes closer to a week if you are sedentary and/or were eating a frick ton of carbs the day before your fast. If you fast, do some walking or light jogging, and reduce carb intake leading up to a fast, you can hit ketosis in 24 to 48 hours.

          >Not eating for 48 hours isn't enough for ketosis, it takes closer to a week if you are sedentary and/or were eating a frick ton of carbs the day before your fast.
          IST cope lmao

Protip: You enter ketosis after like 10 hours of not eating, it's when you get jittery because your glucose stores are 100% empty and your breath starts to stink.

            Anonymous

Also that's why those diets where you don't eat carbs in the evening work: You're in keto for like 15 hours a day, and that suffices to lose some weight.

            Anonymous

I sometimes do ketosis (occasionally, making it a permanent "lifestyle" is moronic to me though), and it's always taken me longer than 10 hours. I know because I have a literal blood reading machine that tells me with accuracy. This is the first time I heard of the 10 hours thing, I thought it took most people 2 to 4 days?

              Anonymous

              >I thought it took most people 2 to 4 days?
That's a cope because keto really isn't as good as people claim, so when people start asking question, ketolards say they weren't in ketosis all along.

yeah keto is fine for a short term weight loss thing but its also a one way trip to feeling fatigued as frick

Exactly how I feel. It's great on a cut for a month or 2 but frick doing it longer than that. Plus I like my pasta cheat meals too much kek

Think about carbs as instant energy. As long as it's used then you're fine. It's only if you sit on your ass eating carbs that its a problem.

you filled up with fluids, but since you consumed close to zero calories (black coffee does have a miniscule amount of carbs) you should have still burned some fat.
Next time, try a dry fast. Your body will burn even more fat to produce metabolic water, and your weight is guaranteed to go down on the scale.

fasting is just another method of getting into a long term caloric deficit to burn fat. Just because morons do it then frick up their results by overeating the rest of the week doesn't mean it doesn't work.
Even if you are not trying to lose weight, it's still beneficial due to autophagy

                >fasting is just another method of getting into a long term caloric deficit to burn fat
It's the best method for fat loss. That alone is the perfect reason to do it. Hormones matter. Losing weight means jack shit if you lose a bunch of muscle. Fasting stops that

                >Fasting is a fad. There's literally no reason to do it
Proper hormone balance is maintained to keep metabolism high and burn fat rather than muscle. There's literally no reason to do anything else to lose fat when fasting exists. Feel free to keep bulking and cutting to lose the same 15 lbs of fat and muscle and never make any progress

Whenever somebody weighs themselves, the ±3 lbs is always implied. This is due to water, feces, inflammation, cellular waste, etc. So if you weigh yourself at 180 lbs, that means you could be 177 lbs or 183 lbs.

Another reason why daily tracking is dumb. Once a week is ideal.

      Anonymous

Then you have one inaccurate data point per week. Just weigh every day and think of your seven day moving average as your actual weight.

        Anonymous

The 1/week is inaccurate too but if you're grinding you're at least guaranteed a lower number and it's more exciting. But honestly your way works too.

just switch to one meal a day, i found it very easy and you lose weight relatively quick. you can eat huge meals and it still only ends up being like 1300 calories, plus the food tastes so much better because you're always looking forward to it
