Fasting while keeping muscle

What’s the best way to lose all this fat? Should I start fasting? How much should I do? And how do I preserve muscle while on a fast?

Fast to burn fat, high protein to keep muscle

Okay thanks man. How long/often should I fast for? I’m 5’9ish and weigh about 175 pounds. Also, how much protein should I try to get in on my refeed days?

Eat enough protein, workout and cut/fast
You will lose some muscle but it will be mostly fat. Also re-gaining the muscle you used to have is a lot easier than making new gains.

Thanks anon. Should I start off doing 16:8? Can I just go for 24 hours then eat for 8 hours then go back to 24 again? What do you think?

Gaining on a fast if you are trying to burn is counter productive, it will be easier to focus on cutting and then gaining after.

Just do low/no carb + fast 16:8 is solid, do more if you can, but focus on one and then do the other for best results

So do 16:8 every day and eat about 2500 calories in total during refeed hours?

No, you have to eat deficit if you want to burn, maybe 5 - 800 but high protien

So 500-800 calories in 8 hours? What food do you suggest?

                Anonymous

                No I mean 5 - 800 less, so 1700 to 2000 calories in 8 hours

Wouldn’t that just add the weight back though?

If you eat 2500 to maintain, why do you think eating less would put on more?

Well I want to cut down as fast as possible. I’m going to the beach soon with some friends and I realize I look disgusting so I wanted to cut as much as possible. Can I just fast for 3 days and then eat like 1000 calories and then go again for another 3 days?

Ok, then fast for 20:6, hit some HIITs in your lifting, eat lean and clean at 1500 cals and do it everyday until its beach day, also dehydrate yourself on beach day

But the thing is I already don’t eat that much during the day. I know I’m still fat as shit but I seriously maybe drink a protien shake when I wake up and eat like pasta and a salad when I get home, which is already under 1500 calories and I don’t lose any fat. That’s why I’m saying I need to take more drastic measures because the 16:8 shit isn’t working for me

You can start off with 16:8 so you kinda get you used to the feeling off hunger and holy shit fasting sends you to another dimension so don't forget to drink water.

Staying with an empty stomach for longer than you have ever been will feel different. But it's not really in that much of a bad way. It opens your third eye bro

Usually takes a day or two. You basically don't spend your energy on consuming goyslop and feel like a human again.

Damn, I just calculated how much food I ate in the last 24 hours and it totals up to about 1000 calories. 2 hamburgers, no sauce with bacon 1 slice of cheese, vegetables, about 7 chips and coffee with cream. I need 1800 for extreme weight loss.
