Fat loss, loose skin.

So I'm about 80 lbs overweight at 6'1 right now. I'm determined to lose the weight not just for looks, but because it's having a serious effect on my health. Can anyone with experience losing a huge amount of weight tell me if disgusting loose skin and stretch marks is inevitable. Honestly, if I end up looking like the guy in the middle, I might as well stay fat and die young.

He lost way, way more than 80 pounds. Had to have first off.
Second of all, you can minimize loose skin by supplementing collagen with vitamin c, losing slowly, using topical retinol, using a lot of moisturizer, and using a derma roller if it starts to happen.
Lastly, use silicone tape on your stretch marks. It's used to make surgery scars disappear and stretch marks are just scars. You can use iodine with a huge covering over it too but that one is considered experimental

any info on the silicon tape shit, I am very curious about it and this isnt the first recommendation ive seen. do you just use it like the box directs? any other shit you're supposed to do?

i can confirm i lost about the same amount of weight (45lbs/20kg) at 32 years old and didn't have any loose skin either. i didn't do anything special. maybe it's because i was only fat for like 1-2 years, maybe it's just not enough weight for loose skin. i think it's the latter

you can't lose the skin natty, forget about it mane. just get the surgery. also i think you won't be able to lift for a while after getting it so building muscle mass just to lose it all is probably a waste of your time

It's worth to build muscle because of muscle memory, but yeah you'll lose mass. You should also expect to gain weight during the recovery as you should be eating in a surplus, just dont gain like 15-20 pounds, once you get cut, you can never frick up again, it's a commitment.

At 80lbs you'll be fine. I lost 170 pounds and the loose skin was very minimal. Don't commit to surgery until you arrive at your final goal weight. Lower body lift costs $20k for a non-shit surgeon, and the recovery is NOT fun.

No amount of loose skin could have made me not want to loose the weight. It is a strict upgrade even if you don't look perfect.

          SW 465
          CW 235 (and rapidly declining)
          GW 180

LW 202 (I have my reasoning for gaining, I didn't just moron out, I did, but it was intended AND "medically" supervised)

upper body life is probably not necessary unless your moobs are HUGE. Lower body lift is what you could potentially need, and that will fix your sagging ass/thighs/belly.

I know lower body lifts cost $20k because I consulted with a plastic surgeon after my weight loss. He said he couldn't recommend the surgery unless it really bothered me and my body perception. He also said he rarely does upper body lifts, and the recovery is horrible.

This is the best advice you'll get, and what another ex-fattie on IST told me when I was where you are: full body muscle building exercises every week coupled with cardio.

Don't worry about complicated splits, they don't apply to you because you're eating at a deficit anyway. Do full-body HIIT and lift weights to maintain your muscle and ensure you're developing your entire body. Your exercise needs are NOT the same as Scooby, or ISTizens who are looking to bench 3pl8. Don't let morons here laugh at you if you're doing full body exercises every day.

Finally, do core exercises every single day. you WILL have back issues from carrying extra weight all around.

My moobs are really saggy, I can't really tell how much chest I have. My ass flaps, my thighs are pretty huge (loose skin wise, probably the most). Tummy there too,

In order of Most Important (health wise)
Thighs, Stomach, Ass, Arms, Chest, Back, Neck

In order of Most Imortant (physical wise)
Stomach, Chest, Thighs, Neck, Back, Ass, Arms

I do PPLPP cardio 6 days a week (2 hours of cycling) and usually end up doing 2-3 of those so it's more like 4-6 hours, I was doing ULx

My programming is better than my nutrition, I hit abs on workout days.

The only 2 upper I "want" is chest and neck, back and arms I can cope with (cause I can't really see em LOL)

My calves are also disgustingly huge from loose skin to (which I actually am happy with, it's literally a massive sack on my legs, no calve rasies for me frick that)

My UL was like 24 sets of 8-12, switched to PPL witch is like 14 sets of 8-12, just more days. I was overtraining, some people say it isnt real but I for sure was. Also I'm past muh noob gains, so cutting is just a fricking chore and the gym sucks ass, so I don't want to sit there for 2 hours a day anymore when I can just do it for 45.

There is no, 0, absolute way I can manage to be <180, with my loose skin "technically" i;d be like 165-170, but there is no way I'd manage to be sub 180 before the surgery. come 200 I was literally feinting during my cut, granted my cals were low (didn't do cardio), but still. My other like 3 gym people say I'm capping out at 195, my OG was 210, but in 2nd grade I weighed 180 (175) so I have to see it once...

The 200 pic idk, I can't tell what's loose and whats fat, most of it I can grab and shit, I'm 5'8. Maybe that's why?

I genuinely think I have a "big frame" and am meant to be fatter. I have never once seen myself skinny so to answer your question, idfk man.

Oh another thing this surgeon told me: for some reason whenever people lose a ton of weight, the body seems to lose your ass. Part of it is asses get saggy anyway, and part of it is that the glutes are a huge muscle that gets consumed when your body needs to lose muscle mass (which is inevitable when you lose weight)

So make sure you're doing as much ass exercises as possible. Squat plug also helps if you need it.

The things that required active fixing?
      >Meal Timing (I eat at 7,11,3,7 everyday, I would get headaches until it just went away one day)
      >I go through like 3 packs of gum a week (I just like chewing)
      >Cardio ((Is good for fatloss/heart health)) but I found it kept me busy, so if you are hungry go for a walk
      >Weights, same as cardio + i like weights
      > Protein to GW, eating "clean" isn't because muh health, it keeps me the most full, so I do not cheat
      >Count calories, and weigh food autistically

      Non-Active Fixes
      >More Water
      >Work a job/school/hobby (distraction)
      >No food that you might binge in the house
      >No liquid calories

I unironically just got fat binge eating, not in the OH MY EMOTIONS, naw, I'd just slam 5k calories for lunch, and then have dinner too. I really like to eat and have a huge appetite.

Fasting "shrinks" appetite, I would start with IF first, and then 24 hour fasting and at max 72 hours. I DO NOT RECOMMEND FASTING AT ALL THOUGH (besides IF, but that is simply skipping breakfast)

If you count calories, and ONLY allow yourself to eat within the parameters, you literally can't lose. BUT, eating clean helps, and learn macro nutrients please. It'll stop you from cheating, also look up ANABOLIC RECIPES, if you really can't eat clean.

Thank you kindly. Same issue which is essentially binges. Looking to form better habits.

Yeah, the one and ONLY thing I can recommend is buy a weight scale (for food), and download a calorie counter app (I use LoseIT!) after that, learn macronutrients, and the Satiety Index, after that you have to experiment yourself with what keeps you full throughout the day.

I recommend activity because not only is it good for you, it keeps you distracted, "tones you up"(lol), and gives you a reason to stay at your weight.

Mike Israetel (renaissance periodization) has good playlists for nutrition, as I said, anabolic eating.

The rest is all just to make life easier.
          >Wanna binge
          >oh it's not X time
          >forgets to binge
but be careful not to binge/restrict, that's a whole different eating disorder. there is no "off limit" foods, you will just find that 200 calories of vegetables, and 200 calorie of bread, are not the same when your stomach is hungering for more food in 30 minutes after the bread.

Also despite what austists say, be flexible, if you overeat Tuesday, undereat Wednseday. (I have to eat 1800cals as I was 900cals over from yesterday for example)

I’ll have to check out loseit. Mfp worked for me a bit but where I struggled is home cooking where either you used a lot of ingredients or someone else cooked it. Weight scale would aid in that.

Activity is crucial. I’ve been working on expanding that and may consider something like a step counter. It’s crazy how much I sat before. Will also check out the playlist, thanks.

Yeah the binging is the big one. I can destroy a pizza easily with little effort. It’s mostly portion control with me I think. Ive worked out satiety pretty well when I’m “on program.” Dairy is amazing in that regard, though I have to watch my portions of everything else. Thanks again for the tips. Gives me some motivation.

How old are you? If you're young and lose the weight in a controlled steady manner you'll be fine.
