The data says a third of the USA is obese but I work in retail and go out a lot and rarely see obese people. Where are they all if they make up a third of the population
maybe by virtue of being american you are desensitized to what obesity means, and so you see tons of obese people but they just look normal to you, and only the truly gargantuan ones stand out
As I've made the point in another thread gym culture is a part of the reason for the "rising obesity" levels we all see.
I'm European and don't get me wrong, it's funny to laugh at how fat Americans are. But a 27 bmi man in America is usually not like a 27 bmi man in Peru or Japan. First of all, bmi is known to be skewed in favour of short people (as in shorter people are fatter than their bmi would indicate). More importantly, and more to the point, putting on muscle turns the entire obesity thing on its head.
When I was dyel I was 150-160lbs, now I'm 190-200lbs. I went from normal weight to "overweight" but look much better and am likely to be a little more healthy. Same deal with women - a lot are becoming bigger, but it's all going on their ass.
It is a very serious thing to be misinformed like this. A young man will think it's all good to be overweight or obese, that everyone else is as well, he will have no problem getting b***hes and it must be that they need to wait until they get money or something like that - when they are actually getting crucified because they are fat or skinnyfat. Next thing they know they're 29 and lifting weights for the first time and crying on here about still being a khhv. The competition out there is fierce and getting tougher all the time.
I'm curious to know who all making up the 30% "obese" is actually 25% or more BF, and if things are still as bad as made out to be. Conversely, how many of the ones who aren't considered obese, but actually are.
Why do "fat positive" people refer to themselves as plus sized instead of fat? They use "fat" a lot in compound words and meme phrases but specifically don't use it directly on themselves.
They stay inside all day where you don't see them. Since covid, you can work from home, have all your groceries delivered, even have restaurants deliver. There's no reason to get up and leave your house anymore if you don't want to, and it should be no surprise that fatties are disproportionately taking this option.
If you're American your conception of obese is probably warped some too, for a 5'10 man obesity starts around 210 lbs, which is a far cry from the hamplanets people have in their head when they think of obesity
Yep, just get close to a healthy BMI and see what your family and friends say. They'll probably say you're too thin when you're a single pound under the healthy weight line. They have no idea what a thin adult really looks like anymore.
>rarely see obese people
Bullshit. Perhaps you rarely see morbidly obese people which is a level up. Obese people are just as common as healthy weight people these days. Go watch some movies from the 70s and earlier. The actors considered fat in those movies often barely look overweight by today's standards.

I went to a wine festival once and literally 50% of the women were fat as frick

They call 200lbs males obese.
You can be 200lbs at 10%bf and you can be 200lbs at 40%bf
the number of +200lbs people with 10% bf is small there's not point even mentioning them.
In fact, the number of anybody with 10% is miniscule.
overweight, not obese
You live in the USA. You see so many obese people that you don't even recognise regular obese as obese.
The turbo obese all stay inside all day.
>he think fat people are normal or in shape
obese doesn't mean 500 pounds it's 25% body fat for men. tons of guys are walking around at 30% and the average is well over 20
demographics
bmi doesn't work on brown people because they are shorter and thicker
this results in an obesity epidemic on paper
BMI works just fine for just about everyone except roiders and elite natty lifters.
Everything else is just fat cope
Their mass creates gravitational distortion that draws them close to each other.
