I'm going to do rows twice as much as I press now. I'm so annoyed I didn't do this earlier

      what's wrong with barbell rows?

  3. 11 months ago

I do dumbbells rows and took my a while to figure it out the correct form. But once i did is by far the lift that I feel that activates my back so much. I still hate them tho, uncomfortable piece of shit lift. But it works.

Pull-ups aren't enough but weighted ones are

I rowed for months with little progress but switched to pull-ups with 45 and 70 lbs added and row went up immediately

I did tons of weighted pullups with great form and my traps/upper back are tiny dude

saying pullups are enough for the back is like saying only squats are enough for legs. drop or keep doing pullups but if you want maximum back growth i would suggest u to row (wide grip) and deadlift at least twice a week

      Deadlift twice a week

        >deadlift

Yeah if you're a powershitter but if you're bodybuilding it's a complete waste of time

  6. 11 months ago

No shit. You need a horizontal and a vertical pull, for the same reason you should do both OHP and bench.

there's just no good way to row heavy and keep form like you can with other compound lifts.

      Anonymous

yes there is, it's called being flexible in the hamstrings and respecting the row as a compound movement and not as an accessory

        but it is an accessory

    I prefer yates rows.
I do that which is towards the hip, and then I do a high row to the shoulders for the upper back.
Don't forget all types of shrugs. Horizontal kelso shrugs look neat.

This fitness autism is so out of control. Pick up the fricking bar and lift it towards your abdomen using your back muscles. It’s that simple, and anyone who tells you differently does not lift.

      >oh no I’ve been using a reverse grip sumo row form when I should’ve been doing the optimized zercher penis grip pendlay row with a weighted vest and band resistance plus 2 deload sets with Willy wonka’s floaty soda drink my gains are forfeit!”
Why do you fricks have to over complicate everything? Is it just that you wanna feel like you’re lifting the “right” way versus the unwashed masses?

        Anonymous

Nope it isn't that simple. If I do pendlay style rows I just feel like shit and my biceps/forearms get a pump.
If I do yates rows(higher angle) my lats hurt and I get a good stretch.

If you can't feel the difference then that's on you.

When I used to lift like you proclaim all I got were stronger strong points, and my weakpoints stayed the same.

doing a lever and pulling up is literally the same motion as a row

It's embarassing for a grown woman to not be able to multiple pullups. It's even more embarassing for a grown man to not be able to do even a single one. Doubly so for someone who claims to be a strongman

I think he gets a pass. He isn't an average man. He is highly specialised in a sport that doesn't require pullups.

i workout with dumbbells, and dumbbell rows feel so awkward to me. end up skipping them half the time as a result.
