Female overhead press

>Mouth got the best of me
>Told woman (Tall and 150ish pounds) I’d throw her in a lake on our first date, weather permitting. I’ve got at least a month to train
>Says she wants me to lift her above my head
>Talk trash, say I’ll do it
>Says she’ll post the video if I manage it
How do I properly overhead press a human without making her do contortions?
150 pounds isn’t heavy, but I’ve never trained for this in my life. I picked up a girl who was 5’2 and 132ish or so pounds and dunked her hair in a stream, is it the same thing?
There’s a way to do it, but I don’t want to grab her cooter or butt (we’re both maintaining celibacy until marriage; so those areas are off limits).
I have the strength to overhead press this weight; but human weight is different. I’d imagine adrenaline would drop and this would be the equivalency of heavy metal music in my headphones.

That's a heavy lady. What's your weight and 1rm OHP?

      Anonymous

Not for her height; she’s surprisingly tall for a female.
I’m 170. I don’t know what my 1rpm is but I can try and overhead press my mother later today. They’re the same height minus a few inches and pounds (probably 20ish)

If you're serious about this, have her work with you. If she squirms and wriggles, tell her shes probably gonna fall, so have her stay still and help you elevate her overhead. Dont be afraid to cheat the movement a little to get her up there either, its gonna be hard enough as is.

I was watching guys do it on YouTube, they have them lay across their shoulders and there’s a position they have to be in. Im assuming I’ll have to jerk the motion and do something similar to a snatch or whatever it’s called to get a bit of a jump so the upwards momentum helps me move her

Overhead pressing a human being is a lot, A LOT harder than doing it with a bar. I can OHP 225 for reps strict but I have trouble picking up my 100ish Lbs nephews because, surprise surprise, they move around a frick ton. It’s like picking up a big fricking bag of water. You fricked up, anon.

Woman’s weight is a little different in distribution. Their weighted at the hips, so they’re a lot more centered
Men are a nightmare in terms of this because our weight is centered at the chest, so it’s going to be weighted further from an ideal carry position

I rep 225 too and I can lift my gf from the floor overhead like a joke. She weighs about 130. Sounds like a core strength deficiency.

Bros I herniated cervical disc in neck and my physio is telling me to stop doing OHP. What can I replace overhead pressing with to get big shoulders?

When I fricked up my back, I found seated barbell press better. Can't say for sure if it'll be better for you, but it's worth a shot.

    You're a moron OP.
So basically you're going to be going to the gym every other day and alternating between a 5x3 Push Press and 5x10 Military Press. The 5x10 should be somewhat easy. Also do some core work, upper chest work, and rear delt work in the 10-15 rep range. Everything else for the gym is on maintenance. Women are bottom heavy so you won't have any issues with balance when you pick her up and holding her. If she squirms a lot she's gonna fall and bust her face so let her know that.

There's a precisely 0% chance you're going to strictly press her over your head, 150 lbs OHP is a very impressive lift that you'll only get after months if not years depending on your weight.
The best you can do is use momentum with your legs and hips to throw her above you, much like a push press, see pic.

Try strictly pressing your mum, and then try doing the same but squat down and rise up, pushing her with your momentum.

      That's not OHP

That's the point, you're not going to be OHPing 150lbs as a novice, so push pressing is the best you can do.

This was my thought. Thanks dude

This is not an OHP scenario since you’re free to use leg drive. I do this with my wife all the time to frick with her. She weighs 120 and i can only strict press 180

Good to know; I’m glad it’s more feasible then I realize.
I’ve got from now until my passport is approved; so that’s probably a long time Kek

Will do; I’ve got a rather large chest; so thank goodness I’m okay there.I definitely need to hit core and read self more.
I do need to specify that; hopefully I’m near water when I do it. Ideally press her and if I slip throw her in the water and make it look intentional)
      Thanks anon

what can you strict press and what can you push press?

  14. 1 year ago
    Anonymous

when you are attempting to overhead a person you not only lack any kind of stability from the weight (they like t flop all over the place) but because they are much wider than a bar, you cannot get the same leverage. The width of the person is going to force you to push upward farther away from your shoulders reducing efficiency. I can just barely strict ohp my 155lb friend and my regular ohp 1rm is around 190lb. You might be fricked OP.

OP why do you have a weird fixation with putting women in water. You sound like a fricking serial killer. Also there's no chance you pick this woman up over your head. Guaranteed you're going to fail, look like an idiot, and then drown in the lake yourself.

Lol you're a fricking moron. OHP'ing 150 pounds is not hard by any means, but if you haven't OHP'd before its going to take you a few weeks of fricking around to figure out the lift.

      Anonymous

It's not just figuring out the lift, an untrained individual needs a few months of training to get to a 150lbs ohp

        Anonymous

150ohp is like a year+ of lifting for untrained, most untrained men can only ohp the bar

Yeah i guess. Took me less than that but it's my best lift, but i guess for the average person that's about right
