What kind of pan is easy to clean and won't turn me gay. Aluminum sucks to clean and I think it's dangerous for some reason, and teflon makes you gay.

What sort of maintenance does a pan need? Do you mean cleaning?

Well you have to dry them completely and quickly to prevent rusting.
You should also season the pan by rubbing oil into it every few months and then baking the pan. This keeps it non stick and helps prevent rusting.
Another issue is they dont spread the heat evenly around the pan so the centre is always hotter, and they are so heavy you cant flip shit in the pan chef style.
All that being said, they dont have any of this crazy chemicals they put into modern shit, so its your safest bet.

No, it's not. You can abuse the shit out of cast iron. The idea you have to "maintain" them is a stupid meme.

Wtf are you talking about hard to maintain. Cast iron is easy as shit to clean and maintain

Its near impossible to frick up a skillet. Worst I have ever done is overheat it that the seasoning came off the center when scouring with the brush.

stainless steel or cast iron, ideally you’d have one of each, not sure what you mean by a pan “turning you gay” but those are both the best choices

I have both stainless steel and cast iron pans, and in all honesty, 90% of the time I use my all-clad nonstick pans. Cleaning SS and cast iron is a b***h.

A lot of people are tied to cast iron, but imo carbon steel pans are much more versatile.

Thinking of making the cast iron move. I got some aluminum pots that I've been using for 5 years now that an old neighbor gave me when I moved in but frick knows what they have been leaching into my foods.

Cast iron is pretty decent for eggs if you are doing an omlette but I prefer stainless steel pan for it.

Stainless steel is serviceable to switch to for pots.

Yeah. Cast Iron is just incredible for searing because of the latent heat, its easy to clean, and goes to oven without a problem.

Just dry them out by heating them back up.

Cast iron is incredibly easy to clean. Get it hot, the deglaze with water and rub it with a coarse bristle brush and then use a plastic scrapper if something is stubborn even then. Back to heat until its dry.
