The only thing that can fix me is a wizened sage well past his prime who teaches me his ways so I can defeat his rival clan in his place whilst simultaneously redeeming said clan's strongest student as I learn the power that is combining might and kindness.

Are you supposed to deadhang completely loose “in your joints” or slightly engage your scapulas? I get this super uncomfortable stretchy feeling across my delts during deadhangs but pull-ups are just fine

You should be completely loose except for forearms in a deadhang, if you engage back that’s an active hang

do you guys full relax your body doing these, or stay tense? I feel liek when i relax i release some "slack" in my lower back and feel it doing work but I remember seeing some anons say that deadhangs messed them up somehow.

I have a fear of dead hangs because I tore my shoulder joint apart and had to have surgery to fix it
Last time I went rock climbing (presurgery) I dislocated my shoulder

No one speaks about it but if you have a (temporarily) fucked up shoulder then dead hangs feel like shit and put pressure on the joint. I mean that's just my experience. When you're feeling good tho you feel kind of good dead hanging because it stretches the pecs and lats and while strengthening grip and shoulder blades if they function as they should.

I hang upside down too, if nothing else it forces shoulders down from ears and of course strength benefits to a point just like dead hanging.

same, just lift your knees up infront and you get an even better stretch in your back, also good for the core
