No they are great, but at least for me the hands across felt unstable as frick so I was forced to learn a proper Olympic front rack position. Might be a hurdle for some people.
What I don't like about them is they're heralded as being this number 1 quad exercise when really your core/upper back is more likely to be your failure point on these. They're assumed to be a better quad exercise than back squats but that's assuming a worst case scenario back squat (very wide stance, not very deep, all glutes & hips), when a quad focused back squat will simply hit your quads harder while also hitting your glutes harder because they're not limited by your upper back strength, & surprise surprise, you can train your upper back with upper back exercises instead of this monster mash master of none amalgamation that is a front squat.
Great exercise for demonstrating strength though.
They don’t hurt my lower back therefore I do them instead. I keep my feet together with heels elevated for max quad activation. They’re better for higher rep work because like you said your upper back will be the weak point
Pretty much this, I do them but it's specifically as an accessory to address me folding over in regular high bar squats when it gets heavy. Also just a cool lift, if you like a lift for whatever arbitrary reason you should do it.
Why all the bullshit?
Get straps, put on bar, rack the weight, gain mobility and competence as you keep increasing the weight.
The straps will prevent cheating.
with that form yes

literally the best barbell squat to do for quads and glutes
bulgarian splitsquat is the superior lift with dumbbells ofc
i like barbell lunging
post body. you are always posting bullshit so I am pretty sure you are either a roider or a fat moron.
This sage guy is a real idiot, amirite?

>Is one of the best squat variations on planet earth a meme?
No plus youre a homosexual
Front squats are king. Do them like a real weightlifter not this cross-arm bs.
how do I fix myself so I can get my arms into the oly lifter position?
work on flexibility
any specific things for my arms?
should I just load a racked bar and force myself into position?
Thoracic spine mobility, foam roll your lats then upper back while holding your arms above your head.
guess it's about time I got a foam roller
Why all the bullshit?

No they are great
No back rape like regular squats
zercher
they're a meme if you're a homosexual who does them without rack position
