    Have you tried actually lifting?
    Because I got lats sticking out the fricking side from just doing assisted pullup-machine with proper form. Stop using your arms to compensate. Draw your back into retraction, chest to the bar, use your lats to pullyourself up by imagining you are pulling the elbow down.
    If you think with your wrist/hands going down you will always compensate with arms not lats.

      I can do 15 pull ups and they're still not visible. It's not that they're not there it's just that my frame hides them, just like Jeff in the OP.

            God no 160lbs is not enough to see lats.
            Your back has huge diminishing returns, but it's designed to be able to pull your own natural weight.

    You're training them wrong, wide pulls/pull downs help alot, dumbbell rows, nvm the bad pose both lats are the same size

            Modified nsuns that's closer to a brosplit with lots of volume mixed in with strength training, I don't stick to the routine 100% because it's based on how I'm feeling that day. Some days I do the bare minimum of the routine other days I'll add sets or more exercises

                Nta, but you should either do blocks of strength training and hypertrophy training
                For example you could focus on strength for 2 months then switch back to hypertrophy
                Or do something similar to PHAT where you have strength days and hypertrophy days

        I rotate heavy days for squats but typically

        6 sets of squats x5 315 warm up, 455 working weight, peak 495 and work back down to 455

        4x10-15 max weight leg extensions

        3x10-12 375lb hack squats on the ball of my foot and feet placed in a straight line with my torso to put pressure on my quads

    You do know that people don't always see you from 100% directly in front of you right? People do see you from behind and off to the side all the time.
    Or do you look in the mirror and somehow think that literally that's all of you that exists somehow like your entire back is somekind of missing texture?
    You know that people basically never even see your face front on, right?

    Dyel here. I don't get why everyone always talks about lats. It's basically a muscle group that only other lifters even know exists. You may as well obsess over developing your tibialis or something irrelevant like that.

      lats are the biggest prime mover in your body in terms of surface area, they are extremely important for upper body strength

      Try pull starting anything without your lats. Or picking a heavy gas can up with one hand. You're not always in the perfect squat or deadlift position in the real world.
