what happened?
He's a seething goy.
t. mad goyim
obvious b8 but on the real he has some great advice
>as soon as you wake up, go outside and look at the sky to heal your circadian rhythm
>do deliberate cold exposure to boost adrenaline before exercise
>avoid overloading your brain with "instant dopamine hits" like social media, sweets, etc.
>take control of your dopamine receptors and train yourself to produce your own motivation
the neuroscience doesn't lie anon, you just aren't listening
He wants to make everything as complicated as possible and look smart while doing it. Oh and sell you supplements as well. It’s all one big grift
>wants to make everything as complicated as possible and look smart while doing it
he literally explains everything he talks about in easily-digestible terminology and educates you on how your brain and body function. don't blame the teacher because you're unteachable. and if you're not skipping ad reads in videos that's your problem. maybe the professor of neurobiology isn't the problem, but your lazy ass is. open your ears for once and maybe you'll learn something.
You are a fool and he is a grifter. Feel free to waste 2 hours of your time to lean sun is good and you should eat protein.
>They hated Jesus because he spoke the truth
feel free to remain miserably ignorant on how your meatsuit and cpu function, i'll continue absorbing information that i can apply to bettering my life. good luck brainlet
What is he selling lol? There’s not a single instance where he tells you to take any supplement. In fact everything he recommends you do is literally free and behavioral. Sleep better, eat better.
It’s a free podcast, of course there’s ads, moron.
The one constructive criticism I have is that he provides excellent lectures and theory, but the how-to's are often lacking. You can walk away feeling like you've been educated, but feeling somewhat confused on the practicality of any of the information you've leaned.
Having said that, the top rated youtube comment is usually a synopsis of the applicable advice for all of his videos. You can tell he's VERY timid about actual advice he gives for legal reasons, but if he gave a conclusion or advice section at the end, his vids would be 10/10.
>You can tell he's VERY timid about actual advice he gives for legal reasons
What legal reasons? Do you think some moron would try to sue him after becoming blind from staring at the sun too much?
He adds like 87 disclaimers to "take cold showers", knowing that some moron out there will give himself hypothermia from overdoing it
The only thing he’s actually given instructions for were behavioral changes you can make. That and advocating blood draws twice a year to understand your metabolic health
jfc you pleb, not everything is made for you. If you don't like the details, get information elsewhere
90% of "lifehack" science is garbage that is highly speculative at best. The service that popsci promoters like this dude and also people like Gladwell etc provide is to make people feel smart and superior by knowing thousands of "crazy facts" that probably aren't even true or are lacking in a huge amount of the context required for an actual understanding.
It's the same as the thousands of books sold to women on parenting or relationships etc. Just these dudes found a way to get money from men too.
I notice you didn't single out anything and you just threw everything under the popsci label so basically you have no argument.
>popsci label
Because that's literally what this is
Research published in reputable science journals is not "popsci," sorry to burst your bubble.
research does not mean absolute truth. It is often more of a suggestion. Look at his Wikipedia page, it is mostly focusing on anxiety responses through different parts of the brain, but that "breathe ten times and your day will burst full of energy" is bullshit.
>Wikipedia
way to out yourself as a moron
Yeah, it is bullshit, because you just made it up. No one says "breath ten times and your day will burst full of energy," you just have to exaggerate to a ridiculous extent because if you don't then you'd have nothing to stand on.
>research does not mean absolute truth.
Find me any one time AH says this earnestly and I'll post a video of me cutting my left nut off
uh dude is pretty plain spoken, unlike obvious frauds like Jordan Peterson for example.
They both speak in a way that is very easy to understand. Maybe you are just moronic idk.
i can easily understand Peterson, but he talked in an needlessly complicated way in order to make himself look "smart". what he's actually saying is usually pretty obvious or just dumb.
He literally says “talk to your doctor” before even talking about any specific supplements and very plainly states that they’re not for everyone. Maybe you’re just too stupid to focus on what he’s saying?
You are too dumb to understand the point I’m making
שלום
IM 2 DUM TO GET WOT BIG DOKTUR MAN SAIS BOUT HELF
BIG DOK MAN DUM DUM
My dude you're tattling on yourself.
>>take control of your dopamine receptors and train yourself to produce your own motivation
so is there a way to do this in a domain specific area? Like, I understand a hypothetical situation where someone wanted to find normal women attractive again so they stopped bombarding their dopamine circuits with pixelated ass and breasts constantly - but what if I want I want to enjoy and seek out socializing more?
>tfw feel lonely and isolated
>but putting myself in social situations/forcing myself to socialize still feels like monumental task.
wtf?
if you figure this one out lmk
Build it up slowly over time
Practice “opening” yourself in conversations - I don’t know how to explain it but it’s when you genuinely seek to speak to a person’s heart, rather than just interacting with them as a talking object.
If you can’t do this, try it on the checkout cashier. Don’t just make random small talk, but instead look at the person and try and feel what they’re feeling, and from that you can match their energy.
The next thing to do is to go to places where there are people who are like you (or like who you want to be) and LARP. I’m not kidding, what you need is a social persona. Fake it till you make it. If you struggle to naturally fake it, think about someone you know who is really popular and cool, and imagine yourself as acting the same way. If you can believe that you are popular and cool, then very soon you will become popular and cool.
Another anon said psycho-cybernetics is a good book, you can get pdf on Google.
Also, PUA meme aside, the mystery method explains places you should go to and spatial awareness in social situations
>psycho-cybernetics
Wrong thread anon. But yeah, that book's pretty good so far. I'm like 30% through it.
>At gym talk to loads of people, guys and girls
>They come up to me to say hi/bye, hang around etc
>Impossible to move this outside of the gym except for 1 girl I slept with
This is all good advice and 100% what I did back in 2009 to overcome social anxiety and become a social butterfly in college. Psycho-Cybernetics, LARPing as a social persona, etc. Amusingly the PUA meme was what gave me the idea that I could learn social skills and improve, so it worked out for the best.
Regarding deriving reward from social interactions, taking natural introversion or extroversion out of the equation for a moment, I think one factor is that people tend to not enjoy what they suck at. Think about learning a new skill, like learning to play the guitar, or first starting at the gym, or whatever... It feels like a chore at first until you gain enough skill to start deriving reward from it. Socializing is the same. I had social anxiety and low level social skills that I had to learn from scratch, so I set little mini goals for myself each day that would gradually get more difficult, like starting a conversation with someone from class, or holding eye contact, stuff like that. Went from always turning red, stuttering, and feeling butterflies in my stomach to being really comfortable socially and a lot of friends I made in college recalled meeting me through me randomly talking to them.
Succeedsocially.com is also a really good site I used way back then that covers a lot of the absolute basics of social skills and starting conversations if you're an absolute sperg starting from scratch.
Hubes explains exactly this situation in his podcast on dopamine iirc but basically when you feel lonely and isolated then the first few times you go out and socialize are not going to be particularly enjoyable but if you continue doing it (with the intention of having a good time and not just dragging yourself out there for the sake of doing it) then you will begin to enjoy it more and more and it comes to you more naturally.
I wake up at 6.00 (like a functional member of society)
There is no sky to look at, this time a year
That's why he recommends using a SAD lamp as a less effective but still useful alternative for those that wake in a time where there's only dark for a lengthy period of time.
What happened to the sky?
>6:00
>not complete darkness half the year
lmao I guess nordic people are just fricked
I don't sleep (i tell people i wake up at 5 anyway)
and can confirm, there is no sky, just sadness
>>as soon as you wake up, go outside and look at the sky to heal your circadian rhythm
What if I wake up at 1pm every day
Then you sir, are winning.
science man tells people to turn their phones off, unplug, go outside and exercise
rage ensues
>science man tells people to turn their phones off, unplug, go outside and exercise
rage ensues
Then why are his videos more than an hour long? It’s a pretty simple, you got it in one sentence
don't be proud of being a moron
I watched some of this guy content but I genuinely don't care about all that science especially when it's 2 hour+. life is not that complicated lmao
>2 hours blabla
>1-2 good tips
i usually just browse the comments and the watch the segment. this is how you huberhack.
>huberhack
I like it
He literally explains the reasoning behind the 2 hours blabla and 1-2 good tips, and it's because morons like you will just take the tips, and as soon as they can't implement them because one thing went wrong, they're too uneducated to figure out an alternative as they don't understand the underlying physiology that gets affected by his 'tips'.
thanks for the reminder anon, just ordered some tonkat ali
All of his stuff is like "According to study X, stroking your dick with fine grit sandpaper 3 times per day along with gentle pulling actually creates micro tears which can increase its length by 1 centimeter over the course of three years"
If you want actual longevity advice listen to Peter Attia not this gay
>Peter Attia
Another grifter.
honestly both are good
honestly both are shit
>hacks your biology
Anon, you just don't have a day dedicated to a 2 hour contrast shower. You just aren't doing it right
Have some respect. I was sad as hell when I heard he died. Wasn't my favorite Saved by the Bell character, but he was still part of what made the show the show.
>In early January 2021, Diamond was diagnosed with extensive stage four small cell carcinoma of the lungs.[41] He completed one round of chemotherapy in Cape Coral, Florida,[42] but died from the disease on February 1, 2021, at age 44.[43][44]
Cancer kills you in less than a month from diagnosis? How does your cancer get so bad that you have weeks to live without you realizing something is wrong?
I swear some of u homies will reject perennial advice until some science fa440t repeats the same shit.
> parents: your video games and pokemans will rot your brain; stop eating junk food, and eat some veggies; go outside, and talk to some girls; etc.
> PhD: same shit but science words
>Oh no, I can't believe people find arguments more convincing with something to back it up as opposed to their parents just not liking it
>t.
youre a dimwit
Stare at the sun.
Getting butthurt by an excellent science communicator and researcher delivering solid information for free in a clear and concise manner.
I'm sorry you're too moronic to understand some of the big words OP...but don't take it out on Huberbro. Just stick to your gay as frick Andrew Tate videos.
>concise
lol
Oh I'm sorry science communication isn't like a Marvel film.
IN ENGLISH?
Go frick yourself. It’s so tiring seeing tate worshippers like OP and their shit threads.
If you don't want to listen to his hour+ long episodes you can scroll the comment section and try/implement daily life tips that could improve you
Anyone who believes so much in The Science is a midwit, that's my main issue with him, and the supplement shilling. At the higher end of thd IQ bell curve people realise the limitations or pitfalls of modern science, especially in soft sciences where most studies are either junk or fraudulent. Every study should be taken apart with a comb rather than taken at face value. Then there's supplements. You don't need supplements, you need to eat more meat, eggs and fish. These sorts of people have to invent problems to sell you solutions, and ancestral wisdom is like kryptonite to them.
>muh science is for midwits
If you actually listen to what Huberman has to say instead of robotically spouting anti-empiricism dogma then you'd know that no scientist takes any study "at face value," but instead synthesizes the findings with other research that has been done up until that point and use it to formulate a coherent perspective on the subject. As more research is conducted and more findings are reviewed and published, the perspective shifts and grows to accommodate the new information.
Meanwhile morons like you assume the pseud position that because "modern science has limitations" (find me one person who will tell you otherwise) then any new research or data can comfortably be discarded without a second thought.
His point is mainly no scientist lives on Science (abstract moronic concept) nor any actual science but on collectively earned knowledge bequeathed by their parents and community, to sum it up
imagine if he had think neck, nobody would listen to this moron for 2 hours
kek this. A thin-neck, recessed chin nerd w high pitched voice could not garner this much respect
he's not really bad but could be better
would not say grifter tier
Why is there s much arrogant stupidity on this shitty board?
why are you seething like a god foresaken homosexual? this guy is one of the few decent people on youtube
>get plenty of sleep
>go outside after you wake up and look at the sun
truly great advice for the unemployed around the world
