Haven't drank this stuff since I was 14, replaced it with coffee
Quit coffee recently and now I feel the void, what vice should I add to cope with it?

why did you quit coffee and how long has it been?
Tried quitting recently but lost all desire to do anything

        Quit almost 3 months ago.
I quit it for a couple of reasons, one is just logic. I'm drinking a stimulant daily that can't be healthy, and I'm looking to healthmaxx right now since I'm lifting
Also it never did much for me in terms of energy really (probably because I drank it chronically everyday for 10 years), I mainly drank it out of habit and because I really enjoyed the taste (with milk+sugar)
On the first week I quit I got some headaches but they went away quickly, after that I feel pretty much the same as usual
There were some improvements of course, most noticeable was sleep. I sleep way better and faster, and I started dreaming again I never dreamt before. This was pretty much immediate after quitting coffee like 3 days in.
And my eye doesn't twitch anymore
Oh and I also noticed my resting heart rate went from around 80 beats to 60.
        That's all I remember now

It's sad when people that don't understand food think simply avoiding that shit is enough. Then make salad dressing with mayo or some shit.

Consume stuff with artificial sweeteners instead, it worked for me. Yeah, it's still not ideal, but a lot better than sugar. Stevia is actually pretty decent in terms of both health and taste. Coke Zero was pretty much a god sent for me.

        Anonymous

What if it caused you cancer in long term? Still think its God send?
I still drink it too because i like sweet drink but i know the danger and risk. Does it worth it?

          Anonymous

Honestly, even if there's a slight risk of it causing cancer (and it's extremely small if it even exists, there have been countless studies on that subject and none have been able to identify a definitive link between the consumption of normal amounts of artificial sweeteners and cancer), it's still orders of magnitude less dangerous than eating/drinking the same amount of sweet with real sugar. Of course consuming less sweet stuff in general is even better, but given the options, artificial sweeteners are the much lesser evil.

Anyone actually feel uncomfortable by the fizz in these drinks? It's sharp and feels abrasive on my throat.
The fizz in fermented products like beer and kombucha is much softer and nicer to drink if you ask me.

I was extremely addicted to Coca Cola during my teenage years. Ballooned up to a BMI of 33 (190 cm/6'3'' and 120 kg/265 lbs) in my early 20s. Finally decided to quit it at 22, best decision of my life. I still drink the Zero variant (yeah I know, it's not ideal and I want to get off it, but I can't help myself), but without the sugar, I got to a normal weight within less than a year. Frick this goyslop.

      Anonymous

Wasn't in my teenage years for me, but from about 20 to 24 I was drinking 2-3 cans a day. I'm 167cm/5'6" (lmao manlet) and hit a BMI of 30.3 in January of this year at 84.4kg/186lbs. I finally admitted I had a problem in February and started eating less but better, and also exercising for the first time since I was 16 (at that age I got a really bad developmental knee issue that made even walking quite painful so I just became sedentary), and quit soft drinks entirely. 6 months later and I'm down to a BMI of 22~ and a body fat % of around 22% as well, and its so freeing. I'm definitely gonna keep going until 15% bf at least, I know that'll be hard work but I love being in control of my own body and actually feeling worthwhile and attractive, shit is based. Quitting soft drink outright was more because I decided to terrify myself with horror stories about gallstones to scare myself out of the addiction lmao. It worked though, piss crystals clogging your pipes doesn't sound fun.. Having one every so often isn't too bad for you though, as you say its not ideal but as long as its not daily I don't think it should cause problems.

so you guys are telling me, people get fat because of sugary drinks and not because they eat shit all day?

      Anonymous

It can be either, it can be both. Very simple.

      Anonymous

People get fat because they are in a caloric surplus for prolonged periods. Where that surplus stems from doesn't matter. For some, it's too much sugary drinks, for some, it's too much high calory fast food, for some it's both.
