Fucked up spine

The doctor just told me that my spine is fricked, similar to pic related but less severe, and that i should immediately stop doing deadlifts squats and other stuff that put pressure on my spine. He also said that shit like lat pulldowns and bench press are okay since they either extend or don't put pressure on the spine. What are some other exercises that i should stop doing and which ones are okay?

for squats id just do split squats, leg curls and leg extensions

rows could also compress spine. everything that's heavy and involves weight pushing down from shoulders to your feet will compress spine

do exercises sitting or bend your knees a bit to put less pressure on back

I have scoliosis at least as severe as your pic and while it caused some issues when I first started lifting it never bothered me once I got past that

If you do squats and deadlifts with good form, and slowly progressively overload them, your spinal musculature will adapt and get stronger. It'll be in a better place than if you stop working it completely
Many doctors are pretty clueless about lifting weights

Most doctors are moronic as frick and you shouldn’t take strength or training advice from them. At least get other doctors and physical therapists opinions on it first

Just stopbworking out all together if you're going to listen to that shitstain pill pusher. Doctors want you unhealthy, they want you unfit. Keep doing what you love and don't deny yourself of it.

That dogshit doctor wants you weak, fat, and depressed so you can be on a wienertail of medication as you slowly waste and wither away your life.

Your spine will get used to whatever it has to, frick this thread, keep doing anything and everything.

Collegetard doctors will cut off your dick if you dangle $5 in front of them dont listen to them.

You want to do anything you can to strengthen the muscles around your spine, this will slowly push it back into place.

Doctors would rather prescribe pills or cut off part of your body than actually solving the problem

Go to another doctor and see what his take is. It's always weird to see doctors prohibiting exercises; this usually are not good ones. I have scoliosis and do pretty much everything. I just avoid deadlifts for a personnal preference.

They are clueless in the sense that they are speaking from a purely mechanical perspective.
    >Oh your spine isn't straight, loading with weights will make it worse
Your spine is not a stick, it is supported by muscles and tendons. Make yourself stronger without doing dumbass things and you are fine, don't overthink it.

I have scoliosis as well which I have made drastic progress fixing since june. I recommend using a tense machine on any tight muscles in your back (more so around scapulas) lay on your belly and try to achieve full arm flexion through stretching. If you can try sleeping on your belly for a week with your left arm over your head and preferably with your hand reached passed your right side over your body making your chest turn to the right and your right hand holding your pillow or arm pointed toward your leg. The only other non detrimental way you can sleep right now is flat on your back. While awake practice a side lying windmill with your legs at your right side and think of it like opening your right shoulder while your left shoulder forces your rib cage into proper position. I assume your right lower trapezius is more built than your left so try some low trap raises if needed. If your quadratus lomborum is under developed one side you must practice suit case carries holding the weight on your strong side. When your posture gets better wrap a resistance band around something sturdy behind you holding each side waist level and move your hands forward while keeping your arms straight. If you can afford it I would recommend a nice inversion table and using it at least twice per day. I believe scoliosis is guided by the shoulders and starts at improper hip position so hip stretches every day and strengthening that QL is essential. Once you fix your shit some lat pulls should make a vest of muscle to keep you in place. Close grip will secure your lower while wide grip will target higher. Some serratus anterior and oblique isolation probably wouldn't hurt either. After you finally fix your shit I could then advise deadlifts with a clear conscience. Give it everything you have and expect promising results in 2 months. YGMI OP God bless.

Go to a physio with good qualifications. GP’s lack the expertise of physios when it comes to rehabilitating the kind of issues you’re dealing with.

if your scoliosis is mild, just don't do stuff that feels bad. despite what powershitters say, you don't actually have to squat and deadlift to make gains. if you can do them, good, if not find other free weight alternatives or just do machines. deadlifts frick me but I can do RDLs just fine, I can also front squat fine but choose not to

also ignore idiots that bring up lamar gant as an example to why you SHOULD do squats and deadlifts.

Doctors are mostly scum but to be on the safe side...
    -hanging
    -reverse hyper
    -pushups
    -pullups
    -hindu squats
    -chiropractic sessions
    -fasciae relase

You may be able to straighten the spine (somewhat) with a lot of patience and perseverance.
