millennials' idea of sport is yoga or some other moronic meme

This just proves millennials are delusional and think buying activewear and occasionally going to a yoga class is a "fitness sport" while zoomers are at least honest/self deprecating.

Go into any gym and the majority of the clientele is mid 20 to mid 30 something year old millennials working out

OP, you need to have at least an IQ of 115 in order to properly analyze statistical data.
    >participants were asked on a "have you ever" basis
    >Zoomers average 16 years old
    >Zoomers haven't even lived long enough to participate in most activities in the world

I could make the same type of survey and ask "proportion of population who drink alcohol" and Zoomers would average 1/10 of every other generation. Matter of fact, they'd rank low in practically any "have you done x" survey simply because they've barely experienced life outside of school.
Note that the only time high school sports participation has declined from previous years was during 2018-2019, directly prior to Covid.

Kids are more than likely to participate in sports activities. Or at least in theory they are. When I was a little millennial kid growing up in the 90s and early 00s, I played outside with my friends. Our street had a basketball hoop, so we would hoop frequently. We would play tag football. On a rare occasion, the kid into baseball would bring out his equipment, and we would play a game of that. We all rode our bikes, and a few of us had roller blades. And at nights, we would play hide and go seek.

Most people my age were not in organized school sports. The kids in school sports amounted to maybe 10-20% of the school population(just a rough estimate), the rest of us were just kids with energy to burn. We would stay after school to watch the kids on teams practice. While the kids are practicing, we would play handball against the school wall. Then bike home. Which was only a mile or two away.

So the idea that you need school organized sports to keep kids active is just a bizarre notion to me. Active kids should in theory out number active adults by a large margin, no matter what schools are doing. And yet they don't. They're just inside all day playing roblox or whatever.

I want to know what they do with their time if they're not involved in sports. When I was a kid, sports took up a lot of my time as I did hockey, baseball, tennis, swimming, etc. Just going to practice and games was very time-consuming but you also want to practice outside of that as well. Aside from the physical benefits, the interactions of being in a team sport helped me socially as I was/am a reserved person.

I’m a zoomer and can confirm most people did not like participating in sports mainly because extra curricular time was used for drugs/parties/fricking around instead. To be fair I never played any sports in high school because I was uncoordinated and preferred weight lifting on my own, I’m quite healthy and strong from a fitness perspective and have gotten into martial arts in young adulthood.
