That stacker 2 or something similar? My cousin used to pop them and he died frothing at the mouth, so I don't trust them.

Still boggles my mind that CHILDREN get prescribed amphetamines in the US

        >Child is just a little distracted / active (totally normal for children)
        >gets prescribed speed

Have been on both Adderall & Vyvanse in the past. Had to stop because it was slowly ripping me of my personality and turning me into a sperge.

Stop while you can. If you have ADHD there are other ways to cope.

Yeah, my cope is Ritalin + cardio. Works fine on my machine.

Haven't tried ritalin but I hear it's less stimmy. If it works it works I guess.

Ritalin lasts about 4 hours to me and I basically get unlimited focus, even for things that bore me. I would not have finished university without it. Still, you should not be taking Ritalin every single day. I probably take Ritalin 5 days a week at the most because developing a serious resistance to it would deplete my supply.

Taking few day breaks seems like a great idea. Dr's usually just increase dose when it loses effectiveness, which is how some 12 year olds end up taking 60mg of Adderall a day, kek.

Upping the dosage when you become resistant to it is like loosening your belt when you gain weight. Doctors should at least be encouraging weekend breaks.

            >don't take every day
            >take only 5/7 days of the week
Still seems like a lot of amphetamines

it clearly is, but america is the most medicated nation earth so it's like having a glass of milk or something

not him but i was on adderall for a couple years and felt the same thing. it's like your mind is very narrowly focused, with horse-blinders on. hard to really have the mental flexibility that you need to have a well rounded personality and life. i found i could devour books but so difficult to joke around and laugh.

it happens with any strong stim at different degrees, they eventually turn you into a task-oriented robot and pay very little attention to human stuff. It's a dopamine/adrenalin thing.

I was on adderall from age 9/10 to 24. Daily amphetamine use inserts weird delusions into your thinking patterns, and if you take them everyday as prescribed, you never really get a reality check for these thoughts. Whatever choices you make on day n-1 just get built upon the next day, and the next, etc. What results is some really weird behavior and logic that is rather ungrounded in reality.
The lack of sleep only compounds this. And the lack of sleep seems to be permanent, I've been off the stuff for years and still have issues.
In addition, you become hyperreactive to inconveniences.
Amps are also anxiogenic, you'll randomly get stress episodes throughout the day that you better be able to calm down or you'll totally lose the amp edge.
I was good at taking tests though. But it turns out that I still am...
        What was the point lol.

what does "destroying" a heart even mean?

  5. 1 year ago

Yes. I switched to armodafinil and prefer both the feel/function and that it doesn't frick the heart up as much. Though depending on what you are taking it for, it may or may not be appropriate.

The fact that you are disappointed by this means they probably made the right choice.

What am I supposed to do if I have ADHD but can't take pills? I'm tired of being mostly ineffective and useless at my job and in my life.
