Use the lower handles while standing on a platform with the same height as the lower handles.
    Voila, leg press

I have bad balance and poor hip mobility so I always have butt wink when I squat. Could I replace squatting with what said?

The only time I've ever seen someone hurt deadlifting is doing hex bar deadlifts

3 years ago did RDL and went to snap city. Just started going back to gym 8 weeks ago after 3 years of treating the pain. Good luck

but how? were you ego lifting? or were you following a linear progression with proper form? it just seems so weird injuries are common but its still recommended in every beginner lifting program

Was doing 70kg RDL. Regular DL were 150kg at the time.

I was in my uni gym with the worst barbells know to mankind. The worst of the worst was left and I took it. The problem with it, it was unbalanced in weight (I think one side was about 2kg heavier) and it snapped when I was putting it down unevenly

what did you do to fix it ?

It isnt really fixed. First 3 months I just mainly lied in bed and didnt do much. Later started doing exercises found on youtube and started sleeping only on my back with legs on a pillow (really reduced the pain at least in bed). A year in to I finally felt good day to day just doing basic things.
I bought a new chair and had to get it up to the 5th floor. All was fine but when I placed it down, I did it first with my right side and then with my left and bam snap again. This snap was different. It wasnt like the first one. In first one I felt the snap but didnt feel any pain until the next day. Most of the pain for the first time was in my left leg and I had to "get it up". The second one just hit instantly and it hurt my muscles. Whole back was hurting especially my lats. It was so fricking painful that I had to crawl in my bed. I had these rings and luckily the ropes were down so I could get up on my bed. Couldnt stay on my back, had to lay down on my stomach. Pain got worse so called an ambulance where they used shit load of pain killers.
I had to go do almost the same exercises and did some memeing with electricity in to my back. 2 years later I started going back to the gym and taking it really slowly, strengthening my back. Dont feel pain most of the time anymore (sometimes it comes back when Im doing an exercise wrong, fix it up and pain is gone)

            Sorry for the blog

what would you replace rdls with moving forward?

Ask them to post body. They won't because they're weak, don't lift, didn't bother to learn the form or all of the above. Learn the form not the autistic ramblings of deadlift naysayers.

just dont do it so heavily

That's a squat. It's great. Keep doing it. It's not the heaviest back muscle overloader though. That'd be the deadlift.

    >allows you to live more weight than you probably should be able to and then when things go wrong they go horribly wrong like a smith machine.
    >particularly if they lift heavy on that type of bar and then switch to barbell with none of the experience and stabilizer muscles.

      >allows you to live more weight than you probably should be able to
I didn't know hex bar were literal magic steroids
      >like a smith machine
I also didn't know they forced yourself magically on a fixed bar trajectory
      >particularly if they lift heavy on that type of bar and then switch to barbell
Different lifts are different, who could have ever known?

proper form deadlifts give you more gains
