        >Compared to highly trained ultra-endurance athletes consuming an HC diet, long-term keto-adaptation results in extraordinarily high rates of fat oxidation, whereas muscle glycogen utilization and repletion patterns during and after a 3 hour run are similar.

You said glycogen would replenish itself just fine eating NO carbs.
The low carbohydrate group in this study were given a preworkout shake with 5g of carbohydrate and a post-workout shake with 5g of carbohydrate, and their glycogen was still 34% diminished 2 hours after exercise.
That doesn't sound like NO CARB to me.
Theres also no reason to extrapolate the physiology of ultra endurance marathon runners to the average person.

Further to this, on a low carbohydrate diet, the primary source of glycogen replenishment is gluconeogenesis (GNG).
The low carb group in this study consumed an average of 20% of calories from protein compared to 15% for the high carbohydrate group. They are eating expensive glucose, as their body is using much of this extra protein for GNG.

Only if you eat enough protein for excess aminos to initiate gluconeogenesis. If you workout a lot, you'll need a lot of protein.

A lot of people workout excessively/beyond genetic expectations for energy expenditure and thus beyond the bodies ability to fully restore glycogen levels in time for their next excessive workout.

    Yes on a cut.
    >low carb diet with a 40:40:20 ratio of protein:fat:carb
    >caloric deficit of 50-750 per day
    >refeed day of TDEE calories and carbs once every 2 weeks

Raw milk and raw honey post workout. You can put some EAAs in as well if you want but it won't affect glycogen, just protein synthesis

you dont need too. eating small amounts of carbs post workout is enough. your body will replenish from that enough to not hamper your peak strength. plus restricting carbs post workout helps with muscle-glycogen efficiency. just dont expect to run a marathon the next day.

No purely study on bodies use of carbs, loading and replenishment.
