i feel like the whole reason we have 2 nostrils in the first place is to cope with it getting out of shape
I have a deviated septum and I don't think it makes a difference

I had that surgery done 10 years ago, and yes, it helps a lot. But it didn't help for the first year or so, because I didn't know how to breathe properly. I watched a mewing video and only then I could really benefit from the surgery.

had it done 3 weeks ago.
can't say I've noticed any performance increases yet, but my breathing has improved a decent amount.
I can actually feel air blowing out both nostrils when I breathe out now

How do you know if you have a deviated septum?

can't breathe properly, always have at least a blocked nostril, snoring, stuff like that

Even with a completely straight septum, your nose will deliberately block off one nostril, and alternate which one multiple times throughout the day.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasal_cycle

There are periods where you'll be able to breathe through both nostrils at the same time, but most of the time you won't.

My right nostril always blocks up earlier when doing drugs. Would this be because of a deviated septum?

      Anonymous

no, generally inflammation is not deviated septum.
People that take cialis, people that do drugs, people that can't breathe when it's raining, etc.
Deviated septum is felt near constantly, If you have moments of relief you either don't have it or it's not severe enough to matter.

I got mine fixed a couple years ago and it's nice to be able to breath only through my nose rather than having to breath through my mouth every 10th breath because I wasn't getting enough oxygen.

All your links are complications for some sinus surgery, not fixing a deviated septum.
