goggins said he used to do between 100-500 reps of low weight to build endurance and lose weight,
but i cant stop thinking about the wear this would have on joints?
do you think this is practical?

He self admitted that he's wrecked his legs so I dunno about listening to his advice. He's a masochist. If you listen to him outside of Joe Rogan or lex Friedman more and more of his oddities come out (like most internet personalities)
i dont listen to the guy or like the guy, nor rogan etc, i just saw a short about how he lost weight and wondered if this would be a good way to go about it
along with fasting and low carb low calorie
Oh wow it's the millionth person looking for a bunch of nonsense to lose weight instead of actually slowing eating right and exercising lol good luck anon we're not going to do the research for you. Yeah, you know what, goggins is great, go do all that shit it's gonna be great you got this!
What he did is absolutely insane and requires a strong amount of will. It was only necessary for him because he was looking to get into the army or whatever.
If you have that amount of will, it is better spent invested into learning how to eat rignt, and then do it for the rest of your life.
Goggins is a fraud meme
Basically all of his joints are demolished and this dude does ultramarathons with bone-on-bone tier joints strapped together with bolts and shit because he's a psycho. He's an interesting guy but much like Ronnie Coleman you shouldn't even think about trying to emulate the stuff he does to his body unless you too are an absolute fucking maniac.
Do not listen to this guy
if you know him you should already know his joints are fucked before making this thread. try using google. i know very little about him and even i know his knee joints are destroyed
I think it would be less stressing on your joints then doing 5X5 and PRs regularly.
Plus I'm pretty sure he only did that during his drasting weight loss that he went on for a month
He's a masochist who, instead of whips and hot wax, gets off on ultramarathons and shit
Don't emulate him if you want to be able to walk in your 40s
Is lifting low weights (40% 1RM) at high reps (15) bad for joints?
If there’s no pain it should be good, at least once you’re comfortable with the rep range over the full range of motion. Just think you’ll be getting a good stretch and bring a crazy amount of blood to the area benefiting the joint
This is me right now 2 months natty lifting. I'm starting to think I should slow down.
You can be practical, or you can be like David fucking Goggins, but you can't do both.
The man constantly destroys his body and is hospitalized because he pushes himself to the very edge and the fact that he is alive is probably largely chance.
he says dont do what he did. figure out what works for you
He had to replace some joints in fact, don't listen to him on anything he's a retard
you want to know how he actually lost all that weight in a couple months? he got his fucking stomach tied lol. if you actually think this guy lost all that weight in that short amount of time you're gullible
>but i cant stop thinking about the wear this would have on joints?
it will wear the joints but if you have built up your tendons and body it won't be as extreme but I don't recommend most people do this without building a base first
wasnt this guy fat as fuck, why doesnt he have loose skin
He says he was 297 lbs at one point before and you can see stretch marks on his arms, but yea I don't understand the lack of abdominal stretch marks and/or loose skin.
he had a tummy tuck you can literally see the scar running between his hips in the OP pic
fasting induced autophagy consumed the loose skin
I do easy high rep work when my joints feel funny after lifting heavy. High rep low weight introduces blood to the joints better, making them recover faster. I forget what this phenomenon is called but it works. My knees are golden in my 30s and been jumping down stairs skateboarding as a teen and lifting heavy most of my adult life.
Key is that its easy, if its 100 hard reps thats a different story
I dislike his nostrils
His joints are completely fucked, he’s talked about it many times. He’s famous because of his ability to channel his masochism into results NOT because he has a golden bullet, secret training technique.
Stick to the basics, take care of your body. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
>.t been training consistently for 15+ years without injuries
Listening to his audiobook inspired me to be consistent with my cardio and make running a habit. Since then I've stopped following him because his book served its purpose and what more could he do for me? You'll never catch me saying a bad word about the man, great guy who helped me and many others achieve the change in our lives that we were hoping for.
do not copy his physical, copy his mental
What do I have to do to not have a body like his?
