Grounding Thread

What is grounding?
>grounding is the process of discharging harmful positive ions that are built up in your body by exposure to radio signals and frequencies by connecting yourself to the earth's natural negative ionic surface.
Basically the human body is an energy conductor and we have all this energy stored inside ourselves that leads to inflammation and other health problems. This excess energy needs to be discharged in order for our bodies to properly function in a net neutral state.

>how do I ground myself
There are plenty of ways to ground yourself. The easiest is to ironically touch grass. Go outside barefoot and just stand on dirt or grass. Breathe in and out. Meditate on being healthy and you can feel your body becoming calmer and stabilized.
Other ways to ground yourself
>take a bath
>use a metal grounding pad

>Why should I ground my body and what does this have to do with fitness
By grounding your body, you can reduce inflammation, swelling and soreness. You can generate muscle repair growth. Better sleep schedules. Fix digestive problems.

Grounding has been proven to work in many real pharmaceutical studies with proven results. Best part about it is that touching grass is free. There is 0 charge for you to be healthier via grounding. Even if it's all placebo (which it's proven not to be) you have nothing to lose.

    >touch grass

    Please do neck extensions.

  2. 4 weeks ago

With all of these health benefits proven to be real and effective. What do you have to lose anon?
    The answer is nothing.

Shoes are the most detrimental invention we have ever created. Putting rubber on our feet has effectively cut off the human body to the earth's natural ionic energy.
    >you wake up in an insulated home
    >you put on rubber insulated shoes
    >you wear your shoes all day
    >you take your shoes off at the end of the day in an insulated home
    >you go to bed inan insulated home

There's no time in the day where we touch grass, or connect with the earth. Because if this we have all become batteries with too much charge. With nowhere to disperse this built up energy, it's like a balloon with too much air. Youre going to pop.

First thing you can do to start to consistently ground yourself is take your shoes and socks off. Go barefoot wherever possible. If you're hiking in nature. Do it barefoot. If you're gardening at home. Do it barefoot. Even taking the trash out. Do it barefoot. Let your body get used to the rough surfaces slowly and graduate to doing more activities without shoes. Try to get to a point where you can be shoeless for an entire hike or day at the park

Here's a few ways you can use grounding to directly increase your strength at the gym

    >ground yourself before and after gym sessions
Give your body 15 minutes of grounding before you head to the gym and after. You'll notice you have more strength during your workout and you'll have more energy after your workout.
    >take your shoes off at the gym
Why are you wearing shoes? Shoes aren't going to save you if you drop a weight on your feet. Although the gym is likely insulated. The feeling of being shoeless is much more natural to the body and will activate that same primal energy inside you. Flatter feet on the ground means more surface area for your leg drive during presses. The reduced padding between your feet and the ground means more of your leg drive force is being used to move weight, rather than being restricted by dampening pads in your shoes
    >ground yourself before bed
Give your body 15 minutes of grounding before bed to improve sleep and muscle repair

Here's a movie that is very helpful to those interested in grounding and what it can do for you.

For those interested in grounding yourself. Outside of touching grass (which is self explanatory, and FREE)
    Look into
    >grounding mats
    >grounding rods
    >grounding blankets
    >grounding beds

There are other versions of natural healing as well that I will eventually cover

      this is nu-age mumbo jumbo

I DO believe grounding has a positive effect on gour body. Multiple studies and meta analyses have proven that grounding works indeed.
From a logical point of view it makes no sense, yet for some reason it works.

        >water and crystals are mu age mumbo jumbo
That's exactly what they said about grounding before scientists took their head out of their ass.
The more open you are about natural healing the more you'll see that they all work with the same principles. Water can be used to transfer electrons, it can also be used to wash negative spiritual energy

Crystals are already used for their vibratory purposes. Makes sense that if crystals and humans vibrate then adding them together makes a stronger vibration.

        >From a logical point of view it makes no sense, yet for some reason it works.
I believe the main mechanism behind the positive effects of grounding is maintaining high zeta potential of your blood. Zeta potential (of colloid dispersions in general) is an electrokinetic potential between the fluid (negative charge in case of our blood) and the shear charged layer of solids dispersed in it (positive in case of red blood cells). A high zeta potential means the colloid dispersion is stable and won't aggregate. A decrease in zeta potential means greater degree in aggregation, which in terms of our blood means sludging, thickening, i. e. decreased circulation. Most, if not all, benefits of grounding can thus be prescribed to improving your blood flow, especially in the periferies where even microscopic clots can significantly decrease circulation.

This is, by the one, one of the mechanisms by which the covid vax causes blood clots. The spike protein the mRNA codes for has a strong positive surface charge, and there causes a local zeta potential decrease in blood wherever it is present, which leads to increased coagulation and clot formation.

I'm not sure how effective grounding actually is when it comes to restoring the natural negative charge of our bodily fluids, but maintaining a high zeta potential of our blood has undeniable health benefits and a decrease in zeta potential is responsible for many cirulation-related pathologies.

Water is polar and balances out charges with other polar molecules like most proteins. Nonpolar molecules are carried in transporters like LDL. This way there is no clumping of these molecules and they "obey" the fluid flow. Also you never explain what ions are positively charged. Is it just H+? Is it some metal? Net positive ions in the blood would lead to acidosis but the body has pH buffers in place like carbonate in the blood. Theres no need to invoke magic. Sitting in front of a screen and wearing shoes all the time is bad for more fundamental reasons than grounding and crystal voodoo.

I'm not the OP, that was my first post in this thread. I just wrote about zeta potential changes and their clinically proven effects on blood because it seemed related to me to the kinda schizo sounding stuff that OP is pushing .

No worries bro, ive also heard of zeta potentials but really i think mother nature has that covered. Whats probably more important is vascular resistance and the reynolds number of your blood to prevent turbulent flow which has been shown to increase vascular damage and lipid deposition.

Your skin. Your hair. Your body. Your body is more than just blood. Your entire body carries a charge and transfers electrons by simply touching other objects.

Everything you touch your body loses electrons to. Which then changes your magnetic field from a stable neutral one to an imbalanced positive one. The human magnetic field is the generator of our health. Those tiny micro vibrations from the emf snowball into bodily rhythms which keep our body regulated and healthy.

Aaaaand off into the deep end. The second you are insulated from the ground and lose electrons to your environment then you become the thing thats positively charged. This is at least following from your assumption. Ok why is the environment net positive charge? Wouldnt you just steal the electrons back because you are the electrophile? There is such a thing as conservation of charge. If anything i would say it would be from wall power but you really think radio has anything to do with it?

                >Ok why is the environment net positive charge? Wouldnt you just steal the electrons back because you are the electrophile?
Because the way electron transfer works. When 2 objects come into contact and ions are formed one side becomes the negative ion the other side becomes the positive ion. The human skin isn't a good holder of electrons so in these interactions it loses electrons.

Everything is net positive because of the air around us. The earth has a negative charge. The air has a positive charge, so without connection to the earth your body is a battery connected to only the positive pole.

                >There is such a thing as conservation of charge. If anything i would say it would be from wall power but you really think radio has anything to do with it?

Yes. It's scientifically proven that radio waves and greater types of EMF cause positive ions to form in the air. Which then strip your body of it's electrons while you're insulated from the ground

grounding is bullshit but it does feel nice to walk barefoot, I do that when hiking sometimes, I'm not autistic enough to walk around the city like that.

      >grounding is bullshit but it does feel nice to walk barefoot, I do that when hiking sometimes
So what you're saying is that it works? Open your eyes. You called grounding bullshit and gave it tangible merit in the same sentence.

Grounding has been proven to elevate moods. What you're feeling while walking barefoot on hikes is a sense of peace and 0 net voltage

Electrical engineer here, grounding is bullshit. If you want to ground yourself, get an anti-static wrist band and plug it into the ground on a wall socket.

You understand how ionic energy transfer works right? If the earth is negatively charged and you are positively charged, by simple contact with the earth you will gather electrons from the earth until you're net positive.

From an engineering point of view it's correct. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the concept

            >net neutral

You could also take a copper rod and just stick it into the ground and hold it, rather than playing with a socket.

Going barefoot works, but the reasons given for why it works are bullshit.

          >it works
          >but not like that
Ok so why does it work if not by electron transfer
          >it just does! But not in your new age way

    that's how you get worms

And you can get mercury poisoning from sushi. These things are unlikely to happen and have quick easy fixes if you happen to be unlucky. In the years of walking barefoot I've never gotten worms and none of the studies state a participant had a worm infection from grounding

You need an EMF blocking bed canopy too

What’s the difference between this and grounding using a mat?

I'd assume the emf canopy blocks the electromagnetic frequencies that are positively charging your body in the first place whereas grounding would be restoring your negative ions. Maybe you should use both to be 100% safe and protected

There is 2 feet of snow where I live.
How can I ground in the winter time?

Copper rod technique is a good one. Doesnt even have to be copper, as long as it's metal, although copper is one for the cheapest and best conductors of electricity. Stick it in the ground and hold it for 15 minutes.

At home, you can use grounding mats to ground yourself while indoors. Taking a bath is also grounding as the water connects your body to the underground piping effectively grounding you.

        >Copper is one of the cheapest conductors
No its not. And all youre saying is bullshit. Positive ions from radio waves? Radio is weightless and carries no ions. It is a form of light. The body has milivolts to 100s of millivolts of charge in localities (caused by ion distribution) when large nerve potentials act or the heart beats. The only way i could see someone "accumulating positive ions" would be through eating overly acidic food and never pissing. Even then the human body is such a pH buffer that it would take FOREVER. This is all hogwash and instead just say that it feels nice to ealk barefoot because we were not born wearing shoes.

          >what is emf
          >This is because we are surrounded by positive ions from electromagnetic fields generated by computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices which can impair brain function and suppress the immune system causing symptoms such as: anxiety, breathing difficulty, fatigue, headaches, irritability, lack of energy, poor health..

I'm not surprised your skeptical though. And yes the body has a voltage. Before grounding results show anywhere from 2 to 4 volts. With after grounding show results to near 0

bro I am dead getting some ballzapping vibes from this thread

You mean positive vibes right? Or negative vibes from the earth

  14. 4 weeks ago

lmao I am a redneck and do this every day without thinking about it

there are many days where I really don't need to wear socks or shoes so I don't

of course I have shoes and work boots for when I need them, but this sounds like new age woo woo honestly

    >touch grass, but spooky

when you started pulling out the electrical charts I just rolled my eyes

      >started rolling my eyes
That doesn't disprove the information provided.

You see everybody inherently knows about grounding, but nobody does it. We all know the beach is fun. We all take off our shoes at the beach and have some of the best days of our lives there. Yet nobody knows you can get that same feeling from your very own front/back yard. Or even in your own home while you sleep.

It's not new age woo woo. It's a scientific explanation for why connecting with the earth makes you feel better

  15. 4 weeks ago

i've been pulling out my wall socket and touching the ground wire is this effective? I get a bit of a shock and it hurts quite a bit but it seems the most effective way to become grounded

Your house is grounded to the same earth that your lawn is. So you can troll and make jokes or you can simply touch grass or by a mat that will plug into your houses ground safely

  16. 4 weeks ago

Bro please take a basic electricity course. This is not at all how static buildup works.

Please explain how it works then? And why years of proven science research is bullshit

        >years of proven science research
Most of the research concerning grounding is done by the companies who sell square rubber mats for $500 that you can go and buy from anywhere else for $20.

  17. 4 weeks ago

    >reduces jetlag
Lol what. There of course would be some benefits to walking barefoot but 'grounding' is quite a meme, especially considering that the biggest grounding shills also sell pillowcases for $200.
