I got really into Ray Peat lately, and his top recommendation is eating a shredded carrot salad every day. That definitely helped but what really eased my chronic stomach pain was eating a couple tablespoons of coconut oil every day. I did some research and it has some very beneficial antimicrobial effects. It kills the H. pylori bacteria in the stomach that causes ulcers almost as well as the leading ~~*prescription medications*~~, and it promotes healthy microbiome in the colon too. My stool has been great lately. I add a little psyllium too for good measure.

So yeah shredded carrots, coconut oil, and psyllium are a good starting point. Of course you want to cut out the usually suspects like soda, processed flours, artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sugar alcohols. My diet is 90% whole fruits, whole veggies and raw dairy and my gut is feeling better than it has in a long long time.

I second this. I had IBS from the time I was 15 until 24. I'd tried drugs, avoiding fodmap, cutting out all grains, etc. Some stuff helped, but carrots, coconut oil, and zero PUFA or bread 100% cures it. First solid shit I had taken in 10 years, I could have cried I was so happy as moronic as that sounds.

I was constipated badly one time and could not go sitting. It was the first time in my life I had to shit in the shower and it was like delivering a baby and my god it felt GREAT to be back to normal. Was the first time in my life I took a dump the natural way.

    >avoid anything with antibiotic properties (too much too list)

the BIGGEST factor to gut biome is plant diversity
you want to eat as many different plants as possible to get the unique bacteria from all of them

Why is my gut acting up despite tailoring my diet to optimize it? I'll eat a breakfast of avocado, homemade sauerkraut, pistachios, and some sardines and a fried egg, then shit out a bunch of slime and maybe some blood. What gives? I also eat lots of roasted greens with almost every supper, drink kefir and/or kombucha daily, and don't drink alcohol or eat much sugar; doesn't seem to matter at all.

IBS is caused by e. coli infections in the gut. Usually after food poisoning.

That said, not a one of you morons have ever listened to me and tried to resolve it. I bet you the anon I'm replying to is just going to go on some homosexual ass meme diet

Sounds like maybe the pistachios are too hard on your gut due to improper commercial preparation. Try getting raw nuts, soaking them and then roasting before eating.

You may also want to get allergy tested. I had terrible, similar digestive issues despite eating a proper diet and never knew why. Turns out I am allergic to nuts, among other things. Never gave me much of a reaction beyond bowel trouble and apparently dandruff, because that went away as well once I cut the offending stuff out of my diet. I only figured out two allergens on my own, the test gave me the rest and I haven't had any issues since.

That is one thing that can cause it. Other causes can be fungal overgrowth or undiagnosed allergies, as mentioned.

        >That is one thing that can cause it.
        No.

        E. coli and Klebsiella are the only strains that can cause bloating. Their fementation capacity is roughly 67x that of commensal bacteria. This fermentation is responsible for IBS, leaky gut, and SIBO.

The reason you broscientists never make any progress is because you don't actually read literature or know wtf you're talking about.

Bulk up your poops. I usually eat calorically dense stuff like meat and dairy, and if I don't bulk it up I end up with a small but uber dense log that breaks into tiny pellets and constipates me for days. I supplement psyllium which makes my turds larger but softer and easier to pass.

Just started throwing a tsp of psyllium into my brotein shake. Hoping it will soften things up a bit so i stop tearing up my arse
