Oh I wasn't even talking about injuries. I just meant that there's far less means to do team sports once you're out of school and everyone you know is busy with their lives, and that's assuming you already have a background in a sport. If you want to try playing say, football at 30 for the first time, well it's pretty much impossible.
Basketball (and probably soccer) is still fine to do. I’ve seen some 40/50 year olds playing pick up games. My friends dad even played in our league one year.
This. I know some who is 43 who plays soccer, the team is uncoached, but they practice 3 times a week and play a game once a week. Same goes with hockey. My old coworkers at my old job had a hockey team with other guys in our industry they knew and most of them were pushing 50 years old in a full contact league even though their schedule was pretty lax.
I am 33 with 3 kids and my nose is all fricked and scared up because I was playing beer league hockey and had on a visor not a cage and took a snapshot right to the nose. Ended up breaking it and getting tons of stitches. My wife made me promise I would stop playing beer league after that and only go to the gym. She was right anyway, piss away 100$ every few months for way too intense try hards to start fights out there. People take sports for fun way too seriously. It’s one thing if you’re playing HS sports, but it’s frickin lower than intermurals
Yeah, I’m sure those division 1 football players spend no time in the gym. Get the frick out of here
dubs and any women OP loves he has to watch get double teamed by two guys who play a “real sport”
I enjoy lifting weights so I lift weights and chat to my buddies at the gym. I enjoy running so I run. It's not really am either/or situation and I don't really care if you don't think it's worthwhile
People who play sports professionally will always have a fitness routine off the field, and in fact it's quite necessary to prevent a lot of imbalances that one can develop if sports were ones only activity.
Because its difficult to get a good body working out once a week by doing mostly cardio. If you already eat well, might help you get lean, but not big.
Competitive sports are fun, but they're not frequent enough or intense enough to really build a body.
>real sport
>still playing games for imaginary points like a fricking kid
>Still posting on anime forum in his 20s-30s
>Being proud of participating in glorified surrogate activity
Dropped your milk bottle, gymrat kiddo
>Still posting on anime forum in his 20s-30s
>He said whilst posting on anime forum in his 20s-30s
That guy never claimed he wasnt a manchild doe
You can't really do team sports after 25.
>Why can't you get a good body by doing a real sport?
but you can? Climbing, swimming, boxing...
also listen to this anon, the most gruesome injuries I've seen/heard of from acquaintances (which are 30+ y/o) are always related to team sports

Soccer and basketball are alright. Just can't do hockey or football.

Because I have zero interest in doing a team sport? Did it in highschool. It was fun, but I'm thoroughly done at this point.
>Why can't you get a good body by doing a real sport?
same reason why you can't

I don’t know how to play hockey and am afraid of being the worst player on the team
Football players literally do a shitload of weights and weighted pushing.
