Yes, I know. I don't really know if I should water them more or less. Also is there anything else I can do besides watering? I tried repotting the big plant. Maybe the problem is having the window open at night?

Lookup what kind of plants you have and google how to take care of them. There should be apps that can help determine what you've got.

You could try closing window sure but I think usually it's a watering issue. And as other anon said, look up what the plant needs etc. you'll probably find out what's wrong through that

Good to know. I am determined to try to save them.

I have however I suck at plants because I forget to take care of them. But that’s more so representative of my generally lack of self care to begin with. Been working on fixing my life, hopefully I can have a bonsai tree stay alive. I was once really good with plants and able to have them thrive without even knowing shit about how to care for them just eyeballing how they’re doing.
I currently have this bonsai I made, and an Australian umbrella tree that would have died if I didn’t re plant it into a pot due to where it was growing (Outdoor AC unit). The umbrella tree is doing great but I think it’s a hardy plant.
Any plant bros know of low effort plants I can keep indoors? I had to accept bonsais need to stay outside to really thrive. But I want to have a collection of bonsai trees or plants that look like trees around my house.

I was hoping for a more “tree” like plant. Not necessarily a tree, since it seems just about every tree truly needs to be outside to thrive, but something that looks similar to a tree. Especially if I can train it like a bonsai make it stay small etc.

I’m considering finding a few weed type plants and taking a clipping to try this on. There’s definitely plants considered to be weeds that have hard branches like bark when they get old enough.

Dude you should try ficus ginseng. They are pretty cheap, sturdy and solid plants that resemble a tree very much. Get them in ikea or hofer or sth, I have a few and they are super nice..

I water them once a week or so and they are going strong... most people dont know but what kills a plant is poor drainage, i.e. water not being able to escape / evaporate properly, causing internal rot. Check the soil moisture at the bottom of the plant and if its constantly soggy, sopping wet thats bad. There needs to be at least a bit of air coming and going. If the plants seems dry put your finger into the soil about one knuckle deep. If there is very little or no soil stuck to your finger its time to water. As far as orchids grow I found out that they strongly dislike direct sun, should be a shaded area they frow in, like a room with a northfacing window

I’ve always hated this tree but I never saw one that was larger than 6”. I’ll give one of these a shot. I want to have a decent sized bonsai somewhere near my office setup

              Anonymous

Oh so you want it really big I see.. these can get costly, the bigget the ficus ginseng the bigger the price.. you could just go for some bigger dracena, like with the wooded trunk, I have one about meter and a half tall, looks neat and has that jungle vibe to it

                Anonymous

It’s not that it needs to be big but for this tree(ficus) that’s the only way I like it. When they’re short they just have stubby bundles of bulbous roots for a trunk and it looks gross to me and just not really “tree-like.” If I did root over rock I think it could look more tree like to me like picrel

My ultimate goal is to have several indoor trees and other various plants so off that I simultaneously do want a bigger bonsai tree. I know they get pricey, I’m not paying $400 for a tree any time soon. I know it takes a long time but I’d rather grow my own large bonsai
