Same tbh. I work in marketing because I love writing but I hate that there's no where to go for me. From content specialist to what content manager?

Frick that shit. I want to become a software engineer but between 50hr work weeks, 4 days of full body training and my wife wanting to "spend time together" I'm stuck on learning how to program for web dev jobs.

Any advice /lifts for this feel, bros?

web dev is dead homie what is this 2015? OpenAI is going to kill that shit in a year or two. besides, you'd spend 5 years learning to code and realise you're competing with Black person women diversity hires who get chosen over you and pajeet street shitters in Bangalore willing to work for $2 an hour my sir

The other option is data engineering.
I like working with data and writing code and shit...so I don't know man. I hate ML and AI. Training and validating models is gay AF.

      I am one of those..

I work a manual labor job but I'm married and my wife loves me and we are trying to have a kid.

I have my dream high laying job and and haven't had sex in 8 years

      >"he can motivate himself to go to the gym everyday but is stuck working a low wage manual labor job"
going to the gym is easy and cheap, getting a good job is not
for most of us is too late to go back to school and as we are lifetime losers and loners and most jobs you need to know a lot of people and be sociable... I'm thinking it's over
I don't even go to gym btw, haven't left my house in three years.
I just accepted it's all about genes and there's nothing I can do about itm Such is life.

Not true, I went to state college and most of my class was in their 30s, one of th reasons I didn't get laid in college

      >He still lives with his parents approaching 30

Yup still living with mom at 90k plus 30-40k bonus at the 3nd of the year cuz I shop at whole foods

Honestly this is me. I am consistent with my diet, my workouts, and my sleep. I don’t watch television, and I rigorously practice several hobbies, making good progress consistently. Yet, when it comes to my work life, I’m a fricking disaster. Kek. I don’t know what the frick is wrong with me, it’s honestly pitiful. I console myself with stupid little quips like, “I just wasn’t made for the wage cage.” I’m also abysmally bad with women kek. Hopefully I’ll be able to start a business or make it as a writer but my hopes are lukewarm at best.

It's all about serotonin. I wouldn't have made it far in my career if I didn't find my job interesting and my brain didn't provide me with chemicals to keep trying and be interested

I used to think that about people too.
After obtaining a high ranking position, I realized the trade off that you have to make to maintain the position and lifestyle.
Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I'm not going to lie, working the small jobs where I knew exactly what was expected, without stress, was kino. I'm not going to knock guys out there that settle for a humble life.

you bucket crabs don't know about getting women and don't even want to get women.
you just think at a certain level of looks and status you won't be fricked in the head anymore and will be happy.
it's never going to happen, though. even if you became objectively attractive you'd still be fricked up.

Seriously, why is it that he can work out 2 hours every day, cook, eat and count calories for another 4. But he cant get his fricking ass to get a education or better job? This is one of the mysteries of the universe that needs to solved

Good thing a degree is literally meaningless and having one is more likely to get you laughed at than to get you a job. Listening to you losers talk about this reminds me that you’re all slave brains. You are genetically incapable of rising above your bondage

Why would anyone hire me? I don't have no degree.

I don't have a CS degree but I'm working in tech now, 5,000 short of six figures, twice what I made working for local news. It took me a year of learning programming, but I made it.
            Good luck.

Just started a manual labor night job in a freezer warehouse stacking boxes of steaks and seafood. It's pretty ironic that i cant afford protein but i push lobster tails, waygu beef, lamb, and rib racks around a warehouse

manual labor isn't 'low wage' anymore in 2022, tradies are upper middle class since all the boomers retired or died and there's a severe shortage in literally every sector since all zoomers and millennials have two left hands and two left feet.
