        >psyllium husks
Do not Use psyllium husks. Danger!
Psyllium husks will bulk up your stool and make it harder to get out and make your anal fissure worse!
eat watery low fat food that is rich in fiber. oatmeal, bean and tomato stew, no rice, whole grain bread, etc.
Fissures take a year to heal. Be patient.

I add a couple of grams to my protein shakes, are other fiber supps more benefical like metamucil, or you dont really need them if you eating enough fiber in your diet? I just want soft creamy poops for the time being while things sort themselves out back there.

Ground nutmeg over whatever your wife eats will harden her poop. If that's not enough, feed her lotus or fox nuts. Take magnesium for yourself and eat sunflower seeds.

    Psyllium yes.
Wipe your ass with less violence.
I also tried a bunch different creams and treatments, the best honestly is just rubbing a tiny drop of good olive oil on my ass after passing stool or before bed, it really helps heal.

      >Wipe your ass with less violence.
This. It's more about how deep you are reaching into your anus other than how hard are you rubbing the butthole. You should feel the paper basically tickling your butthole. Wipe gently until the paper comes out clean, otherwise your skin will be more prone to being irritated. Also tell your boyfriend to go easy on you or make him consider a pp reduction surgery

if you want to use miralax i would recommend taking dulcalax beforehand. it's a stool softener in pill form.

if you really want to give yourself a serious enema, look up at-home colonoscopy prep (they have ways of doing it with all over-the-counter products) but just be aware you're going to dedicate an entire day to shitting water out of your ass.

    >How the hell do I fix this IST?
don't eat foods that create hard poops. Don't eat fat, don't eat rice. eat watery fiber rich food.
    It will heal eventually.
    Do not get surgery.
It will take about a year to heal.

        >Why is your assumption that the medical professionals aren't giving bad advice like in this thread? General practitioners are not learned in nutrition.
Which is why OP needs to go see a colorectal specialist, not a GP. In some countries they're called proctologists. Regardless of naming, they specialize in the lower digestive tract (colon, rectum, anus). I went to one when I got a hem from squatting too hard... thankfully it resolved on its own in under a month, but the specialist I talked to gave me a bunch of valuable info about colorectal health and how to avoid future problems.

I forgot to mention: get a poop stool like in pic related. It'll help you a lot. You should keep using it even after your fissure heals. And invest in a bidet if you can afford it... if not, wash yourself in the shower, or use special non-clogging baby wipes instead of toilet paper (which is way too abrasive and can easily damage your anus while it's healing). Buttholes are just like any other sensitive part of the body, but most people totally neglect their health down there.

There's a couple things you can do to help ease your digestion:
    >get used to consuming olive oil (season your veggies with it)
    >eat oatmeal if you're not already having it every day
    >drink a lot of water... you're probably dehydrated, even tho you don't think so
    >do some LISS cardio, like walking or a gym stepper, ideally 1h/day at least 3x/week
    >do ab work like crunches, the mechanical force of your core flexing helps in digestion
    >learn to love yogurts and keffirs... get natural ones, none of that processed sugary shit
    >buy probiotics that'll help feed your gut flora, most people destroy theirs with shit food/drink
    >use a bidet after pooping... or wash up in the shower (toilet paper is horrible for your anus)
    >definitely go see a specialist that deals with colon health, get the fissure checked out

There's a bunch of little things you can do over time that add up. You should not be having hard stools more than once in a blue moon, it's not normal or healthy. Obviously try to cut down on trash like junk food, alcohol, drugs, cigs, and medication that messes with your gut biome.

Most problems like fissures/hemorrhoids are the result of poor diet and straining.

    Good luck, OP!

      >learn to love yogurts
I wish it were this simple for me. I feel like dairy is one of the main causes for hard shits. Any advice here? Should I try coconut yogurt or something?

        >I feel like dairy is one of the main causes for hard shits. Any advice here?
It could be if you're lactose intolerant. Or maybe you're just sensitive to a particular brand, or family of yogurt. Try a couple different ones. Personally, I've never tried coconut yogurt so I can't really weigh in on it, I only eat the most basic type with the least amount of processing and no sugar.

But you should definitely give kefir a try, it's super healthy and helps regulate pooping. If it gives you trouble, look for a pure probiotic - IIRC there's brands for sale that cater to lactose intolerant people, and could really help you even if you can't stomach most dairy products.

You might also wanna visit a nutritionist, you'll get targeted advice from them that's a lot more focused and specific to your particular case and body's needs, than anything you'll read on this yak-herding forum.

I'm bad at greentexting, so it will be just some posts. Lifting heavy in 2019, start feeling funny in the gut during summer. From bloating and discomfort to severe bloating, shitting bloody diarrhea and unable to keep food down in the span of about 10 days. Get hospitalized, have a cute nurse shove a finger up my ass and then get a colonoscopy - diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, severe inflammation.

From that point on, until January of last year, 2023, have been in hospital several times due to severe colitis inflammations. From regular bodyweight of about 170 to 130 and back up to three times a year.

Around new years eve '22, feel a swollen lymph node, right groin area and some pressure and discomfort brewing close to my anus, right side. Nothing too big, just slight pain and annoyance. Over the course of 2 weeks, the groin pain has increased tenfold, as has the size of the infection in my immediate butthole area. No antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, teas, grandma's tricks or voodoo helps. Cont

Now because there's an infection forming up right nearby my butthole, the ulcerative colitis also decides to flare up, which causes me to have to go shit every half an hour or so. Incredibly weak, can't keep food down, incredibly annoyed, constant pain and bloating, so I start being negligent and wipe with dry toilet paper multiple times a day(severe mistake). A small fissure appears and stings like hell. I've eaten nothing, for days, yet colitis is causing an urge to shit every so often.

Shit out a combination of stomach acid, blood, bile, pus and whatever else there is inside my colon of hell, which irritates the fissure. Another day or two pass and two tiny painful nudges form up - hemorrhoids.

Can no longer sit on the toilet to shit, because spreading my asscheeks rips the fissure apart even further, can only stand straight up and shit in the shower, under water so hot I wouldn't normally take it. By this point, the large infection INSIDE my ass has gotten even bigger and has made it's way to surface level, and has now created what is known as a "fistula", basically the body creates it's own tunnel, which has openings both to the colon inside, and an opening outside close to the anus.

I now have 2 anuses, 1 leaks blood and stomach bile, and the new, bonus one can't stop leaking pink-white pus. Both of which hurt to the point of uncontrollable shaking. Cont

Get hospitalized, IV antibiotics and who knows what else for 48 hours, then surgery day comes up. Body weight at 130, Skeleton King. A nurse brings me to the room, props me on a table and has me put my legs on raisers to the sides, like a woman would be while giving birth.

My balls and wiener are hanging down towards the butthole, which has them in the line of fire, so while they wait for the surgeon to prepare, the nurse tapes my scrotum to my belly area with literal duct tape. At this point I ask for the anesthesia, while the nurse is shaving my butthole area, which is unbearably painful, due to the whole thing looking like current day Ukraine.

They put me under with either propofol or fentanyl, I don't remember, then I wake up 2 hours later with what they call a "stopper" - 2 knots of bandages stuck inside my butthole and the other opening. Will cont after dinner

Well, after the surgery and hospital stay things started gradually getting better. Hemorrhoids deflated and are just hanging slabs, fissures closed up and haven't re-appeared, colitis hasn't gone into overdrive. The fistula however, that thing remains to this day. I have an opening(wound) of about 5mm diameter very close to the butthole, it hasn't healed completely, but it doesn't hurt and causes no problems, mostly.

Make sure that you wash your ass and use wet wipes to the point of slightly fingering your butthole (don't actually finger your butthole) to remove as much fecal matter as possible and once it's clean apply some vaseline or coconut oil.
You basically want to keep the fissure as clean as possible, vaseline will protect it from fecal matter.

    Your anus is weak.

You know how your palm and fingers will harden up when you have a rough physical work?
The same thing needs to be done with your anus.
You can take the long and perhaps not possible path of getting maintaining a diet that yields tree-log like turds that will scrape your innards and anus.
With time this will harden the skins and less fissures will appear.

Or you could take the dildo-pill and toughen it up that way.
