They were a main stay of IST, then the homosexual mods deleted them because they considered self improvement too general for the fitness board. Problem is, they are far less relevant to other boards so they have no place to stay on IST. There have since been several sig discords which failed for obvious discord gay reasons

Burning through the most typical forms of regression analysis. Currently on discrete logistic growth. Trying to really focus on understanding the proofs for when an equilibrium point is stable/unstable, which required a huge amount of time spend on contraction mappings.

It's hard to find material on these topics tho. Most texts on regression analyis are written from the stand point that the reader is some dumbass biology student that barely passed Calc I. It skips a lot of proofs I need to see.

          >What can I do as a humanities college graduate to mathmaxx bros?
First learn the basics of single varable differentiation and integration (this is core calculus). I'd recommend Single Variable Calculus by James Stewart as a start (https://www.amazon.ca/Single-Variable-Calculus-James-Stewart/dp/1305266633). You shouldn't go past Chapter 5 until you learn more about abstract math analysis.

So after you know the basics of calculus, study the entirety of A First Course in Mathematical Analysis (https://www.amazon.ca/First-Course-Mathematical-Analysis/dp/0521684242/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1673375903&sr=8-6). This book is gentle with exposing new students to Real Analysis but it will require a few months of effort to get a full understanding of core concepts.

Once you know the basics of calculus and real analysis, you'll have a strong enough foundation to study pretty much every concept in mathematics with some success.

        Anonymous

Kind f, five doesn't help you as much as counting in the 8 to 12 or even the 15 to 20 range.
This is the secret to why bodybuilders look better than powerlifters. More counting equals more brain activity which leads to greater mind muscle connection. Everything else is just a larp intended to confuse people. Volume is King.

      Anonymous

This didn't happen to me. I just stopped losing weight and my doctor blamed it on a stubborn setpoint and told me that the body wants to maintain weight, even an unhealthy one. He told me to exercise more (weights and cardio) and gave me semaglutide to break the plateau since doing more caloric restriction could be dangerous. I lost 22lbs. Then it became backordered. At least I haven't gained any weight back. It seems like my body really does want to maintain whatever weight it happens to be. At any rate, the water thing is horseshit. That doesn't happen, and even if it did, it wouldn't result in any noticeable change due to the small available volume to store water in the cells.

Just another made up meme workout that "sounds" good to normies.

I'd definitely say 6 km of WALKING, 40 situps/abs calistenics exercise, 50-100 pushups per day, and 30 squats per day is a lot better (on top of already exercising with gym+martial arts)

Most useless flow chart ever Jesus Christ. Just make a simple list:

      Nice chart

      Anonymous

      It really isn't this complicated.

      Pick a rep range e.g. 8-12,
Lift weights if you get <8, then you go down 2.5kg,
If you get >12 then you go up 2.5kg.

      That's literally it.

      Congrats baby's first progresion.

        Anonymous

Unironically this is all you need for infinite gains, only other thing I'd like to add is that a static rep staircase (don't really know what to call it bc I've never seen it anywhere else) is really good for certain movements. What I mean is instead of doing say 3x8 you do 9/8/7 reps, and you microload by 1kg/2lb when you feel like you can take the increase. This works really well on some movements where adding reps feels nightmarishly difficult but adding a small amount of weight hardly feels any different from before, and it also prevents you from sandbagging (eg 3x8 might be RPE 7 on the first set, RPE 8 on the second, and RPE 9 on the last, while 9/8/7 would be roughly RPE 9 on all sets)

          Anonymous

big agree, i guess it's like a micro pyramid.

Of course it gets a little more complicated as you get nearer to your genetic limits.

            Anonymous

As progression slows down yes it would be a bit annoying as random fluctuations in performance would affect that pyramid setup more as it would take longer to progress, but you could fix this by either intentionally doing it at a lower RPE so that even if you are a bit weaker one day you can still complete the sets, or you could have a range (meaning 9-7/8-6/7-5) to account for those fluctuations.

        Anonymous

checked. basically this. works for any rep range really. another thing you can do is keep reps the same across sets of increasing weights, which I find to be good for getting through plateaus

shrooms are definitely life changing. I haven't met a single person who didn't change their whole perspective of the world from it. The chart does seem like a load of bull, though. "likelihood of being life-changing" is not something that can be accurately measured, so the whole chart is useless. Throw in the fact that some people are gonna rate things as life changing cause they changed their life for the worse, and you have yourself a complete mess. Whoever made this clearly never studied any kind of science

Is it the good or the bad kind of change

Usually good. They make your mind more malleable, but if you're in a bad place they can bake in bad attitudes
I quit smoking with shrooms. Went to roll a ciggy and just started asking myself "do I actually like smoking?" Decided I didn't and stopped then and there.
Won't say I wasn't tempted afterwards, but after 4 years of smoking 30 a day it was piss easy compared to every time I've tried to quit previously.

yeah, cutting your tongue out is also life changing
shrooms are pharmakeia and frick with the noetic eye, you will lose your soul before you gain anything from it, you just won't be aware of it. Psychedelics are the worst thing in the world.

How do you figure? I don't know who any of the buttholes in the picture are except for Trudeau and he definitely belongs. The guy in the bottom right with the glasses and yellow tie looks like maybe he was photographed while talking and it just happened to have his mouth a little wide open so I'll possibly cut him some slack.

What're the implications of this continuum? Are hinge movements entirely dependent upon an individual's leverages and moment arms or are they still useful for building muscle mass and strength? I'm inclined to believe it's still the latter
