The COC grips are expensive, so I bought an adjustable one that goes up to 132 lbs, and I’m going to buy the COC #2 as soon as I hit 132 lbs for 40 reps.
I can do 132 lbs for a few reps currently, I’m going to do lower weight for volume and then gradually raise the weight until I get to the max weight.
Bro the poundage on non standardized grippers is a joke. I have a ‘160lb’ gripper that’s a bit easier than the coc trainer which is like 100 real pounds. Coc grippers are nothing like cheaper grippers
I can do the 2 4-5 reps on my right and 1 rep on a good day on my left. Back in the good ol days I could do my 2.5 but I haven’t trained crushing grip seriously for a couple years
Used to be able to get 10 or so on the #2. Never saw any crossover into lifting, and it just fricked up the skin on my hands. Stopped using them for anything other than a drinking game toy with friends.
No. Crushing grip is a feat of strength more than an exercise if that makes sense. The cns load is high as frick and you can overtrain really easy just like deadlifting going for maxes often.
Static and cupping grip will blow the forearms up like farmers carry’s and sandbags and the like. You need high time under tension or reps. Think like a mechanic with nasty forearms it’s not because he can close 300lb crush it’s because he cranks a wrench 1000 times
I am lucky in so far as I have always been able to add forearm size (along with traps/neck and calves)
I am unlucky though because those are the only places I have ever been able to put size on
I used one of these daily for months before I started lifting. It was because I was so weak that I would get hand pain from using the clutch on my motorbike for too long.
I think it definitely helped my lifting, because after a couple of months I still don't need to use mixed or hook grip on deadlifts (which are currently 120kg 1x5), and I've never had any grip problems with chinups.
I can do a 2.0
I don't currently train grip or train much at all
I don't have a 2.0 to try but I can do a 1.0 for reps
I can close the 2 with my right hand but only halfway with my right, go ahead, post your der coomer memes
you have two right hands?
lol I just realized, I meant halfway with my left
>I can close the 2 with my right hand but only halfway with my ri-ACK
I can do the 300s.
I closed #1 for 11 reps but on some days I barely close it.
What muscles this works out? Also will it give me a carpal tunnel syndrome?
it does the opposite and fights against developing carpal tunnel
anyone who has lifted for a bit can probably start with #1.
I dont think they are for working muscle as much as seeing what you can do.
I only have the CC trainer. Hope to get the 1 and 2 soon.
2 for 10 reps. cant close 3

There's a lot of variability, even within brands.

Do these actually help in growing forearms or not?

Makes sense, thanks for the info
So using a grip 1000 times a day will build forearms?
they do but don't expect much, forearms are not easy to grow

How long do you guys hold it closed for? I do 5 sets of 15 reps for 3 seconds each rep.
Coc2.5 checking in. Touch closed a friends weaker 3 one time. Love grip work. Great way to show up the sarm goblins at the gym
