Doesn't matter. Just increase the weight and stop worrying about this shit until you squat at least 5pl8.

For me it’s low bar. Why? Because I’m not a competitor or bodybuilder and I want a squat that incorporates as much muscle as possible for general strength and muscle gain.

This for me. I don't need to be the strongest. I just need to be strong at all.

Do both. I started alternating between the two every two weeks and noticed I began improving my squats much better than I ever had when I did only one or the other.

Depends on your goals. They’re both good.
Low-bar is more of a hinging movement than high-bar and you can incorporate more glutes and hamstrings which takes some of the load off of your quads.

Low bar feels so unnatural and unsquatlike to me. Isn’t it basically doing the same as a deadlift too?

    I’m on team high bar.

Low bar as it is the squat most people can comfortably do without depth issues, we are naturally more inclined to squat at an angle anyway.

      >naturally inclined
i don't hate lowbar but no one will EVER squat like rippetoad without being trained to. it's completely unnatural.

I squat 4pl8 and I literally do not know what the difference is or if I'm capable of squatting a different way from how I do. I just slide under the bar and there's only one shelf for the bar to sit on on my back

    High bar.
Low bar puts too much shear stress in my lower back. I used to love it, but since I got my sciatica unfricked, I'm playing it safe from now on.

Everytime I get in high weight with highbar my knee hurts. I've had this happen several times over 8 years. I just lowbar now and leg press.
