Hijama treatment

Is this effective in the slightest or is it just unnecessary pain?

Whatever it is and for why it's used, it doesn't look healthy.

High performance athletes always come up with bullshit that they pass off as an X-factor thing that they only do which gives them an edge against the competition so you don’t just assume it’s steroids.
It’s always steroids that give them the edge, they’re just behind the thin veil of bullshit they’re selling.

Tbh high performance coaches are often right on the bleeding edge of innovation, I'll wait to see evidence first tho cos I'm not going to the Olympics

this isn't a thing where there will be good studies on.
how would you trick the control group with a "placebo"?

not that I can think off. Probably some marks on the place where they put the cups. I guess it works because it relaxes some muscles and probably hussle up some nerves or something

    >does putting a big suction cup on my back and poking the skin so I bleed into the cup help me at all?
no, it's fundamentally retarded and in the same category as dry needling and acupuncture
you have three different organs whose sole function is to "detox" you. even if your kidneys, liver, and spleen totally shut down, the only thing that this shit would do is make you bleed a little
if you're not doing it to "detox" then the stupid little "suction cup and move it around" can be accomplished by a lacrosse ball
it does absolutely fuckall that a similar placebo could do, while causing you to bleed and destroying capillaries near your skin. It's just popular because it leaves very visible lasting bruising that dipshit pseudo-spiritual idiots can parade around to show that they've hopped on a bandwagon and have disposable income

      >if you're not doing it to "detox"
I did it because I fucked my knee and the physio said it would help with the injury.

I don't know the correct terms in english but it hurts when bending. So during treatment I got cold laser therapy and OP's. Supposedly it helps bringing more oxygenated blood to the area and therefore speeding up the recovery.

This. Pools blood to aid in recovery

When you put detox in quotes, especially in reference to a situation like the liver which literally does serve the function of detox, you look like a redditor.

    >wet cupping
    Miss me on that shit.

As for dry cupping I'd recommend it. I get trigger points in my trap that flare up my TMJ. A 20 dollar chink cupping set destroys them and gets me feeling good again.

It's really just a way to do myofascial release stronger than what you could probably do with massage.
As long as you have someone who can do it wherever you can't reach and you don't go full retard and cover yourself with bruises, I'd highly recommend getting a set.

I think this just simulates phlebotomy. Removal of blood which has many health benefits.
You can get much better results donating blood as they take out more blood, and it's better for society.

There's a guy at my MMA gym that does massages and that kind of shit. Lot of fighters into it. I assume it's meme shit, and even if it wasn't it's grotesque enough to put me off it.

It is but the worst part was being stung like 30 times in 10 seconds with a tiny needle.
