Glorified fake natty physical therapist with 12 million pajeet DYEL subscribers who use “evidence based” training as an excuse to not work hard on conventional lifts.

At least undisclosed TRT usage, nothing in his training suggests that he should have the body that he does. But it could just be camera/light/angle frauding tricks + manlet proportions that give him the illusion of size, he’s at most 5’7 and even height-frauded in his stats video.
(Picrel is Antonio Brown, who is an optimistic 5’10 on paper).

his body isn't really that impressive or big to indicate TRT usage. Seems like he just lifts 5-6 days a week and eats lean.

The same reason everybody suddenly hates patty, or why everybody hated nickelback and justin beiber.
Wouldn't want to accidentally say you like somebody that the crowd says is NOT cool.

People say he used fake plates, but from what i've seen real versions of the plates he used exist, which I don't see anyone ever say. I think there are legitimate criticisms of jeff's programming, but for the weights, I don't know. It doesn't help that all opinions i've seen on it are just parrotings of the same things said by people who've disliked jeff for years.

just watch the curleanx videos, they explain and show everything

          Anonymous

Yes, I am denying some of what I see based on clear bias, and curlean-X is the peak example of that. I watched his video on the controversy before my original post, and as I find it interesting, I don't really agree with it. The gorillian videos on jeff i've seen make don't lead me to believe he would be fair, either.

why does everyone on IST hate this guy?

i learned a shit load from him

Jeff is good for beginners and novices needing to learn the foundations of good bodybuilding. Form, avoiding injury, learning about muscle imbalances are all things people neglect at the beginning which can easily have very serious side effects down the road.

The issue lies in the fact once you’re past that point and getting into intermediate and especially advanced lifting he really stalls out. Jesse is a good example of this. He looks fine for a guy a year, maaaaybe two, into lifting but he’s way past that. I know he’s had injuries that limit his ability to push himself, but he still is clearly half assing some of his diet and training to have such minimal results for some one who has spent half a decade of literally working in a gym working with a trainer.

Jeff is again great, I still watch his videos from time to time, and when I have nagging joint injuries, or worried about pain I still watch his videos first, and they work wonders.

But when I want to gain muscles I go to Mountaindog1 for exercises, for nutritional info or questions about legal supplements I think Nippard is great for that and when it comes to diet and cardio there are literally hundreds of other options that are way better than Jeff because he never covers it in any detail.

TLDR, Jeff is good for beginners and those who want to learn to lift without injury and with proper form. Beyond that point there are better sources of info.

Couldn’t with rotator cuff issues. Literally sharp pain on any presses going above my shoulder plane.

Incline presses, shoulder raises of any sort and definitely not OHP.

Turned to his channel, realized rotator cuff issues are inevitable and extremely common (so no need to panic and see a doctor). I did the recommended exercises and it clears up in a month.

Only if you don't do your daily 3 sets of facepulls

That alone should put Jeff at the top. I never saw these before. No one ever did them. Now I see them much more often and it may not be because of him, but I know that’s how I got introduced to theme. His channel is what got me into doing them and I’m guessing it’s a meme for a reason, largely that because they work for shoulder health and people are doing them because of how much he pushed it.

whats wrong with using fake weights when demonstrating something for educational purposes?

      Anonymous

Pretending that you're not. He could have demonstrated exercise with much lower weight or state the fact that he used fake weights, but instead he wanted to showoff and got called for it. That's all

When I watch his videos, I'm not counting his numbers because I don't give a shit. I'm certain that a majority of his followers do not give a shit, either.

Knowing that the weights are real or fake has no bearing on whether or not the information he gives (for free) is effective/correct/helpful.
