How bad is this for a 20 yo male?

Frick bros. I've been taking Vitamin D supps and lifting, I was hoping my test would be a lot higher than this.

I'm no expert, but this is low test.
Anything below 300 is basically already requiring clinical intervention, but doctors won't give you shit until you are actually <250 which is impossibly low. Especially since you are 20.
You are kinda fricked. Do the test again, fix sleep, eat better, workout and make sure that you do the test EARLY in the morning soon after you wake up (that's what I've heard is the best time to take the most accurate reading).

      >until you are actually <250 which is impossibly low.
I heard from a guy who was 28 who stated his doctor refused to prescribe him testosterone despite him having 220, and he mentioned that he was already fairly muscular, so the doctor likely thought he had enough just because of the muscle.

Yep, this is especially true if you are in Europe where doctors are far more strict with such things as hormones.
Shit I had ED from stress at around 26-27 and my urologist refused to prescribe me sildenafil, I literally had to go to another doctor to get a second opinion and got a prescription out of pity. I can only imagine how hard it would be to get TRT as 20 year old, plus its a permanent thing, you don't just hop off trt.

You have to be reporting symptoms consistent with low T. Inability to lose weight, depressed mood, and chronic fatigue are kind of the unholy trinity.

          >Inability to lose weight, depressed mood, and chronic fatigue are kind of the unholy trinity.
Kek. Those symptoms aren't even guaranteed with low T. So simply wanting to be happier, have more energy, and be in better physical shape aren't considered legitimate reasons. You have to have serious issues like depression, chronic fatigue, and difficulty losing weight.

You complain about this, but when you go on TRT, it's for life. Your balls literally shut down and shrink to the size of raisins and you are dependent upon the injection of test for the rest of your life. If you have enough test to build muscle, achieve erection and arousal, then there is no good reason to nuke your balls like that.

just my non-pro opinion, not advice but:
you're in the range but do the bloodwork again sometime and if it's still near bottom of the range then try some natura test boosting strategies (diet)
only if that fails consider visiting a trt clinic, they will be happy to pump you full of hormones but you likely don't need them and the do affect your body and mind a lot

        https://www.urologytimes.com/view/testosterone-levels-show-steady-decrease-among-young-us-men
        >After controlling for confounders—including year of study, age, race, BMI, comorbidity status, alcohol and smoking use, and level of physical activity—total testosterone was lower among men in the later (2011-2016) versus earlier (1999-2000) cycles (P < 0.001). Mean total testosterone decreased from 1999-2000 (605.39 ng/dL), 2003-2004 (567.44 ng/dL), 2011-2012 (424.96 ng/dL), 2013-2014 (431.76 ng/dL), and 2015-2016 (451.22 ng/dL; all P < .0001).

that's looking at the overall average of the 15-39 year old age range for all those dates meaning as time goes on young men have less and less testosterone. Even the latest snapshot 2015-2016 has a lot of older men in it, by now OP's 357 is probably average, maybe even a bit above average for his age range.

Meanwhile I've heard stories of skinny nonresponders who have tested close to 1k yet don't seem to make any gains even after years of lifting. Test levels alone seem to be a bit of a meme regarding muscle mass and strength, I guess it's more about your individual T levels that indicate your gains (i.e. your genetic baseline of 300 may be equivalent to someone elses 1000), but if you increase yours to 800 it will be equivalent to the other person being at 1500

You’re probably fine. I have similar levels, tried TRT (and steroids), came off after two years, and there’s really no difference. Been off for 6 months now. I got off mostly because pinning sucks after years, being dependent on meds is impractical if you have a life and want to travel, and (surprise surprise) even normal range injections will cause your hormones to peak and trough in unnatural ways and it can lead to acne, insomnia, and mood swings.

People are way too quick to prescribe TRT, and are unfortunately also way too quick to feel strong placebo gender affirming effects when they are insecure in their masculinity in the first place
