How can I convince myself to give up vaping?

I’m not sure where to start. I’m quitting weed right now. But then I have a really really really ducking bad caffeine problem, and a moderately bad vaping problem.
      >caffeine 1000mg/day is normal sometimes more
Less than 500mg and I feel like absolute dog shit. Depressed, low energy, constantly as if I just woke up and groggy.
      >vaping
I go through a disposable stick every 2-3 days. I’ve tried quitting a few times. Really bad headaches followed by bad brain fog and then horrendous mood. The moods are makes me cave, I’m mean to everyone and feel like the worlds against me.

I think once weed is gone, I’m gonna wean caffeine down to sub 500mg, wean the vaping down with timed hits, then wean caffeine to 200mg or less, then quit caffeine at that point, THEN either cold Turkey vaping (assuming a stick lasts me over a week at this point) or use the nicotine gum

I’d knock them out one at a time starting with weed since that isn’t physically addictive.. I had to knock out coke and booze at the same time because my situation was pretty dire

Someday you will give it up.

It could be when you are too old and frail with days remaining in your life. Unable to breathe deep enough for normal respiration you won't be able to even take one hit. Or you can quit now, and not have this fixture in your life for the remainder of it. When you tell people you've quit you get to hear the "dang thats good on you" or "I wish my dad/mom/gf/bf/loved one would quit" or "I never could..." and you can talk about how you were able to overcome a shitty addiction.

Or be a gay and justify sucking a mouth fedora.

cope. my great grandfather was a bomber pilot in WWII and smoked cigarettes every day and lived to be 94.
with that said, vaping is much less harmful than smoking. it's just water vapor and nicotine. It does nothing except give you nicotine.

Weed vape or nicotine? Weed is super easy you just gotta get rid of any at home, started dreaming more so it made me want to give it up even more
Nic was a b***h I made a rule only to smoke on weekends,as any addict I smoked too much and started getting heart palpitations, threw it away and never bought a vape again.
That was like a year ago, although I guess i cheat since I've been buying nicotine gum to help focus during studying for like the past 2 months

    Nicorette gum, anon.
Spend a day or two finding how much you need to kill the cravings, then start snapping the pieces in half every week.

When you've finally reached zero, switch up to regular gum for that oh so important oral fixation.

    Why make it painful?

Seconding this, nicotine gum definite is a valuable asset in quitting. I found it to be pretty harsh at times as you can get a pretty serious head rush and some stomach uneasiness if you overdo it, but it does scratch the oral and nicotine itch and it’s pretty cheap all thing considered.

i throw away my dispos now i'm eating 6 to 9 nicotine gums per day it made me feel sick with not much of a head rush i quit vaping cold turkey before but i'll always get depressed and relapse it's easy since the gas stations sell it there

Vaping is the only way I quit smoking a pack a day. I'm cool with spending a hundred bucks for half a year of salt nic vs like 3000 dollars a year on cigs

Yeah but then how much nicotine do you get from vaping? It's cheaper but you probably vape too much

I used to chain vape 50mg nic salt for 2 years. Would not go 15m without taking a puff. Quit cold turkey by binning all of my vape stash. For 5 days it was horrible but after that easy as. 3 months strong now.

If i can do it so can you

Adding to this, buy lots of gum to distract you as vaping/smoking is orally stimulating. Get into the mindset that you will never smoke again and that the stuffs poison for you. By the end your lungs will be grateful, and so will your wallet.

      Good luck anon

There's very little long term research on it. The general consensus is that its safer than tobacco, but not much is affirmatively known about the risks of vaping when you scale up to a decade. Smokeless tobaccoless products like zyna have helped me. I often wonder why they're relatively unpopular outside Europe. They're fairly cheap, totally discrete, and made with just nicotine salt and a cloth pouch.

It's hard for sure. Ultimately you're paying money to sustain an addiction that doesn't really make you feel good and it's something which has a greater power than your will, which is embarrassing. No trying to be judgemental I'm in the same boat, wish I just stuck to cigarettes.

Making a plan to slowly reduce the nicotine concentration of what you're hitting while letting yourself hit it as much as you want is probably a good strategy, so is occupying yourself during the day around people in an environment where vaping is a faux pas.

Recently my brother started vaping, and it's insufferable
I should say that my brother is a certified moron, right winger, conspiracy theorist, trump supporter etc. If you take all the low-IQ traits and put them together, you get him.

Now the problem is, my brother's vape is fricking loud. Like it wakes up the whole house if he takes a whiff. I have never heard anything like it.

Op I hope you're still reading this but the key to quit vaping is actually a lot easier than you think. All you have to do is realize that you hate everything about vaping, and the only reason you do it is for nicotine. As soon as you realize that you hate everything about vaping, you will finally be able to quit. As soon as you realize that nicotine does nothing for you but relieve the 4-8hour period of withdrawal symptoms that you can barely feel anyways, you will quit cold turkey with no side effects. Read Allen Carr's easy way to quit smoking. Yo

      >4-8 hours of withdrawal that you can barely feel

That's an absolute lie. It is hell if you quit cold turkey. It's all you think about. Your mood sucks. Everything sucks.

The only way I managed to quit was use 2mg on! pouches until I got used to that nicotine level, then habitrol 1mg mints, then cold turkey. Even THEN on 1mg it still sucked for at least a week. Nicotine is a fricking b***h

Just had a crackhead homeless guy standing outside the grocery store ask me if he could "buy a cigarette" and he was asking everyone that, disgusting.

Honestly, from personal experience I do not recommend lower nicotine levels. It just prolongs the pain. I quit cold turkey at 50mg nic salts and it sucked for a few days and then you're done for life as long as you're not a pussy.

      Anonymous

Agreed, lowering nicotine dosage only made me vape more without thinking to counteract the use of higher mg nic salt. Cold turkey is the way. Looking back, i realise the idea of starting to quit vaping was much worse than going through the process of quitting, as the nicotine is literally trying to convince your brain that you need it.

check out the allen carr method. the reason you vape is to feel like someone who doesn't vape. essentially, you do it to briefly alleviate the nicotine cravings until they kick in again in a few minutes. it doesn't actually relieve your stress, it just briefly soothes your cravings for nicotine that a non-vaper will never experience.

when you stop vaping, you are killing the nicotine receptors in your brain, causing withdrawals and cravings. it helped me to realize that nicotine withdrawals don't really hurt, they just cause a kind of empty feeling for a few minutes and go away. in the end it's a mental game.

The problem is that the allen carr method tries to convince you that nicotine has zero benefits. It's not honest at all. The biggest benefit of nicotine by FAR is the appetite suppression. Not only does the act of smoking/vaping provide a good calorie-free substitute for the act of eating/drinking a snack, but the drug itself lowers overall hunger levels. Also there are social aspects to smoking / taking a smoke break with coworkers and or friends.

I have quit nicotine before for a few months. It does not get any better. It just gets worse and worse. I remember one time I had quit for around 40 days and was driving in the sunset on a summer evening. It was absolutely beautiful outside. I became so fricking angry that I couldn't enjoy a nice vape or cigarette on such a beautiful evening it ruined my entire day and appreciation of the sunset completely.

Yeah the problem is that it is a mental game that doesn't end. The method promises once you get past the addiction you won't even feel you need it anymore which is bullshit. This is why people relapse all the time with drugs. Once you've experienced the drug long enough, you know what it is like and you have to have strong willpower for the rest of your life to never give in again.
