How come I can squat with 120kg for reps, yet I struggle with 130 and I can BARELY even done rep with 140kg (3plates)? Why is the discrepancy so big even though it's only a 20kg increase (10kg on each side)?

You don't brace. You let your body go loose in the bottom, so you can't get up with anything higher than your 75%1RM.
What the frick does for reps mean idiot? It could mean 2 reps or 20 reps for all I know.
Put your numbers in a 1RM calculator and delete the shitty thread.
It means a working fricking set which for squats in my case means 5-8 reps.
I find it odd how I can squat with 120kg for 5-8 reps but I can barely squat with 130, let alone 140kg
120 for 5 is 140~
120 for 8 is 150~
your max is around 140-150
You are weak
Bet those 5-8 reps could be grindy. Or you are just well trained at you know.... doing reps????
IMO you have a couple options
1. do more reps at 120kg
2. lower reps and pyramid up to 130kg over time, so do 5 at 122.5, 4 at 125, 3 at 127.5, and try for 2 or 3 at 130kg.
3. go do some other squat variation+leg exercises to strengthen your weakpoint. Don't know what it is but it's there.
Also, going from 120kg to 140kg is 20kg or 45lbs.... that's a lot.You just don't have the raw power for 140kg.
That sounds pretty normal to me. Usually when people say for reps, they are talking about 10 or more
How have you not realised by now how much of a difference even a 2.5kg increase in weight can make, let alone 20kg?
Because even thought I could not properly work out with increased weight before, I could still feel the weight and could control it. Even with my bench although it's at 100kg, I can still load and grind a rep properly even if it's 120kg.
With squats it feels like I can barely even stand with 140 on my back, even though I walk around and rep 120kg for working sets which is between 5 and 8 reps depending on the day, fatigue, how recovered I feel
my rule of thumb is: if i can do 5 solid reps with any given weight, my 1RM will be 10kg more.
so focus on getting 5 high quality reps at 130 and only then try 140.
You should probably be able to do more than 10kg more than your 5rm lol
My 1rm is 35kg up on my 5rm (165/200) but I practice 1rm more often and it sounds like many here do not.
Strength is a skill and if you don't practice you will be weak like OP.

You know, the more estrogen you have, the less steep your number of repetitions curve is. This is why people say "man up" when they put heavy weight on the bar. So I guess there's no hope for you.
264lbs X 5 reps = 1RM of 297
264lbs X 8 reps = 1RM of 328
140kg = 308 lbs
Gee, I wonder why anon struggles to do 140kg once.
What's a kg?
its a thousand grams
Numbers that make sense like that blows the amerigays mind
Would you want to look like that if your feet had 7 toes
You are strapping on an extra 6-year old male onto the bar in terms of weight already on you, it's gonna be heavy
