That picture is from the 20th century. At the time, cameras were already instantaneous.

    >size =/= strength
    >denser muscles
    >"farmers strength"
Id be willing to bet most former blue collar seniors are stronger than most of you fricks. These dudes did real physical work for their day jobs on top of lifting. You bodybuilder Baristas are all fluff. Bunch of fricking Michelin men out there that couldnt last 1 day of farm life tilling the fields and shit.

Think of what they could achieve and now add the leap in nutrition and exercise understanding we have today.

You can be very strong genetically or 'talent' wise. A 16 year old Ken Patera cleaned and strict pressed 100kg the very first time, as in the first rep he ever did, he lifted a barbell.

I've seen elite level lifters variously claim that they lift 10-30% more on drugs, though some of the lifts of weightlifters/strongmen are freakish to this day.

      Nice lies.
      >When Patera was in his youth and teenage years, he didn’t have access to a wide variety of lifting equipment and gyms. In fact, growing up Patera only had a gym set at his home that maximally went up to 110 lbs, and would do all of his lifting on that. And at the age 15, it was said that Patera could clean & press the full 110 lbs with each hand.

I know a guy who's first bench press was 280. He's built like a tank. Those big strong freaks existed then too and had a good way to make living just being strong.
