Try to breath threw the nose and maybe have a window open and just relax. Maybe it's something to do with your diet or caffeine intake or other stimulants like pre

wake up same time every day, get good exercise every day, dont use computers 1-2 hours before bed, work hard at life. its always the same shit with these cant sleep fricking morons like you. I could have you doing real work for a week and you would fall asleep before your head hit the pillow.

    Literally just give up
Just lie in bed, don't move, don't change position, don't try to "make it comfy maybe It will help me", just lie down close your eyes and cope and seethe (unironically)
It sounds weird but when you stop caring you sleep better

If you’re going to bed at 5:00 am or something what I do is I try and stay awake for as long as I can and sleeping at like 10:00 am. It eventually progresses so that you’re going to bed at 9:00 pm and waking up really early

Every night I have to check that the door is locked, AC and stove are off many times like 5-10 times.
So I just checked that the door is closed, I know I did it a few mins earlier but I have this feeling of insecurity like I have to do it again over and over to confirm it. So I keep getting up from bed and rechecking over and over until I feel certain.
    Am I mentally ill?

You have OCD. Go see a shrink to get it under control

I do this. I know everything is sorted but I still do the checking ritual.

I wouldn't worry, its better than being one of those morons that leaves their car keys on the table and locks only one door.

Tried going to bed at 2:00am last night. Last week has been filled with nights where I try to get up at 9:00am instead of waking up around noon, but I still couldn't fall asleep until 3:00am.

Last night I couldn't fall asleep until around 6:00am. Today I woke up around 5:30pm. This is after a week of days where I only slept around six hours and was barely functional during the day.

The night before I only slept about two hours, so I ended up falling asleep during the day at around 12:30pm and woke up around 4:00pm.

My sleep schedule is a polyphasic mess.

you just need to keep waking up at 9am, even if you don't sleep. the fact that you let yourself sleep in so late over and over just proves you're a weak willed moronic homosexual. have a nice day.

      >slept 2-9
Get up at 9 every day, go about your day, do not take stimulants, do not nap, do not look at screens after sundown.
Also don't try to force it. You're not making an effort to fall asleep, you're supposed to be doing the opposite. Calm your body and mind down and just lay there.
It's always helped me to think about fake things when I'm sleeping. I used to have a village with little Mario 64 like paintings that I would pick a larp from when I was little. Right now I imagine I'm a mage from Oblivion.

For a while the larp was altmer necromancer that works for the empire during the great war that comes before skyrim. I just like to think about having lightning powers and making cool things out of meteoric glass and iron like the ayleids while I'm falling asleep.

Focus less on bedtime and more on wakeup time.

Wake up at the exact same time every single day. It will be hard for the first couple of weeks while your body adjusts, but then you will begin to fall asleep 8-9 hours before your alarm is set. You can use melatonin to help you those first couple of weeks. Do not use benzos. They will help in the short term but destroy you in the long term

I was prescribed prazosin. It is a non addictive beta blocker. It helped reduce shit like nightmares and I'd get 7-8 hours of sleep. Cons are that you yet a hangover type feeling and waking up in the middle of your sleep cycle will feel like you're being drugged

Smoke some weed before bed. Makes my brain slow down enough to go to sleep. Before that I was up till 5-6am everyday, just on my phone, or being anxious af.
