you don't want a thick neck, you'll get sleep apnea and even if you don't you're severely increasing your chances of brain aging disorders as you get older

SLeap apnea...wah you snore every now n then.

Thick neck looks better. OHP and Deadlifts will help.

Maybe if you have a thick fat neck full of fat then yeah

What? 17.5 inch neck cold. No sleep apnea. Been training my neck off and on since I’ve been a teen. If anything training your neck protects your brain.

how is this news to you morons? It's common sense -> tighter airway -> less air to brain. Same reason why sleeping on your side is better for your brain than sleeping on your back, even though side sleeping is worse for wrinkles & acne.
Every 3rd fighter in contact sports has sleep apnea cuz they have to spam neck exercises, a whole lot of bodybuilders are on CPAP machines

99% of people I see on CPAP machines are DYELs. So long as you're not trying to get a neck that is ridiculously disproportionate to your body you should be fine with +2". I wrestled in high school and college, and pretty much everyone had bigger necks than the average person, but no one ever mentioned anything about sleep apnea.

          >Every 3rd fighter in contact sports has sleep apnea
Because they’re constantly getting hit in the head and fricking up their neck, not because they train their neck muscles
          >a whole lot of bodybuilders are on CPAP machines
Because they abuse roids and are obese by any medical standard, putting their body in a lot of stress
Training your neck and not getting obese is not going to mess with your sleep
          Absolute morons

Don't bother explaining, they are morons.
I never snored, but i have a naturally thick neck, almost 18.5 inches and it got even bigger as i got bigger 240 lbs and the snoring appeared.
One of the main causes of snoring is the muscles of your neck relaxing and pressing on the airway.
Also some people will naturally have a more narrow airway and will be predisposed to snoring, combine that with more mass on the neck and you have apnea.

      >you'll get sleep apnea
This is only true for necks that are thick due to fat, not muscle.
      >you're severely increasing your chances of brain aging disorders
What the actual frick are you talking about?
