        olympic weightlifters train for power and rarely go above 5 reps

        meanwhile the average crossfit wod is:

        >strength: back squat, find your 5RM in 15 minutes

        >metcon: 21-15-9 of deadlifts with 275 and burpees

        >finisher: carries with kettlebells until you throw up

        add in roids and you have the perfect over-developed core aesthetic

        Mostly from the gymnastic part. Have you seen gymnastic women? They have insane cores and look like fridges. CrossFit has a lot of gymnastics, like handstand walk, muscle ups, toes to bar,... You also have a lot sit ups and running, sprinting.

        OLY and alike do not make you a fridge at all. Even in the CrossFit style those exercises will only make you a T-rex.

    I don't get it bros. Does CrossFit just attract fridge varbies, or does it at the "elite" (kipping) level select for them? Imagine if we separated as a species and came back 200k years later.     I feel like the biggest contributor to crossfit women being fridge mode is just womens genetically wide hips and narrow clavicles. makes it so the shoulder and hip width is basically the same, which gives the fridge mode look.

    compare to crossfit men who train in the same way but have generally less of a fridgemode physique because of wider shoulders. of course, core training/big obliques also contributes to fridge mode

    might also be something to do with the kipping/cheating pull ups skipping out on lat development since they take all the effort out of the positive and don't resist the negative. IT'S PURE SPECULATION
