Dissolve as much salt as you can in boiling water. You probably will want to nuke it, stir, nuke stir until everything is completely dissolved.

Allow to cool (holy frick don't burn yourself dumb shit)

Gargle for 90 seconds, spit repeatedly. Gargle again, spit. Do this 3 times a day

Yes 100% what this dude is saying, I've tested it multiple times going back on SLS toothpastes and I always get them when I switch.

okay, any quick remedies for now?

      >sensodyne
Now you have to watch out for angular cheilitis caused by this. Be sure to wipe the residue off your lips after brushing with sensodyne

Be sure to diligently brush and floss your teeth every day and rinse with listerine until you stop getting them. Orajel will numb the pain but make your mouth feel weird. Haven't found any real way to get rid of them reliably, just have to let them resolve on their own.

    It is called an ulcer
I get them when my food is too hot and it burns my mouth
A pinch of salt, that will ease the pain for a few hours
But mind, it will hurt but for a bit

Eat less fruit, one fruit a day is plenty. gargle with saltwater once you already have one to ease pain, but prevention is king.

I get them occasionally too, easy remedy:
Get some normal table salt, a heavy tablespoon or so. Tip it into your mouth right on the ulcer, no water. It'll sting for a bit while it's on there, give it a few mins. Try not to swallow the salt, and then just rinse out your mouth. It'll feel a little numb after but it gets rid of it right away.

I had a cyst in that spot that wouldn't go away for over a year, and apparently it was an infected salivary gland that couldn't drain properly iirc. Doctor told me if it didn't go away on its own they could cut it out, so eventually I just decided to bite it off myself, which hurt like a b***h but ended up healing just fine.

In retrospect the risk of getting a major infection probably wasn't worth taking, but it worked for me. If you decide to go that route, it's probably a good idea to get a topical oral antiseptic or something like iodine ahead of time. Good luck!

thiamine (and other b vitamins) deficiency causes them initially
poor mouth hygiene inflames them and determines how long they remain
put bicarbonate powder straight on it and FEEL THE PAIN

  11. 3 weeks ago

Yes put salt straight onto the lesion and not just a little bit really cover it up, it is going to burn like a mother fricker but hold it there for as long as you can before washing it out. It will be quite a painful expierience but if you can handle the salt until the stinging lessens you will have a lot of releif

Here's what I do to remove the pain and promote faster healing, follow in order:

    >Brush teeth, tongue, mouth, and get everything clean
    >Grab a clean, dry towel / washcloth
    >Dab the ulcer dry
    >Using another part of the towel, scrub that ulcer hard

The most painful part is dabbing it dry, the scrubbing has no pain after the first second or two.

I find that this removes the painful ulcer outer layer, and just leaves a standard wound. An unulcerated wound does not hurt and heals fast.

If the pain returns, repeat the steps. It should disappear in a day or two.

Top tips for when you have an ulcer:
Do not eat chocolate, do not eat sugary foods. Keep your mouth clean.

This and then pack the ulcer with salt. Burns like a b***h, but works for me at getting rid of them.

Works for me, every time, 100%. One application and you're DONE. Downsides: expensive (you can use half the liquid though) and basically time compresses all the pain this shit will cause into ten seconds.

I second this. It's the only thing that has worked for me, and I've gotten canker sores my entire life. It is expensive and it does burn like hell, but then it's relief and healing. Don't nibble/pick at the protective eschar that forms.

Drinking a bunch of lemonade or acidic drinks causes them for me, never noticed a toothpaste correlation. They heal up within a week, worst pain is for maybe two or three days. Either numb it up with some oragel which hurts like shit at first, you'll have to reapply, or do frequent salt water swishes/soaks, or just ignore it.
