There are people in prison who can figure it out, so I'm sure you can too.

In prison they feed and house you so I'm sure that simplifies things to a degree.

Your focus right now should be getting by, not working out. If you're legitimately living paycheck to paycheck then you're putting unnecessary stress on your budget with the additional cost of food that comes with lifting.

So lifting is a privilege? I can't build muscle without a surplus in capital?

If it took you this long to realize that spending an hour plus multiple times a week lifting heavy objects in order to trick the body into stimulating muscle growth is a privilege, I don't know what to tell you. You're simulating putting the body through real stresses that don't exist in your life.

So I'm wasting my time trying to build muscle as a poorgay? I thought poor people were the ripped ones and the richer ones are less so.

How do you keep getting this as the message bro? You can do rows under the dinner table, cheap chinup bar and literally just fill a bag with anything heavy. When covid hit and I didn't have home gym stuff and it was all sold out I would do a double bag thing with grocery bags but with 10 bags, and fill it with rocks and use it for stuff like curls.

Eat a raw dozen eggs, 2 fistfulls of spinach and a half gallon of whole milk. Drink one glass of saltwater and plenty of fresh.
The secret is you really gotta want it. In jail we found a way, trash bags full of water, blankets of books ect. Go get yourself a sturdy backpack and a 5 dollar 50lb bag of sand and a doorframe chinup bar.
        You gotta want it.

Taking care of yourself should be one of your top priorities especially in financially stressful situations. You can always eat cheap.

I'm assuming you mean working out, right? How do you guys manage to stay IST while your chest hurts all the time from stress?

Working out , especially cardio, helps with the stress. How are you going to dig yourself out of the hole youre in If you're not in peak physical and mental shape?

Your workout momentum carries on to other aspects of your life whether you realize it or not.

At the end of the day, you're stressed over some fake numbers on a computer screen...at least you weren't starving to death in Russia in 1942...have some perspective man...

Then you're only option is to find better paying work. Work construction. Crews are always looking for guys to hump drywall, lumber and shingles around. You get good pay and the labor is physical. It's a high test world, and probably not something you want to do for the rest of your life, but construction has brought many men away from the brink of homelessness.

Just do not fall into the habits of the lifers (pills, alcoholism, whoring around)

I'm a sparkie and every black electrician I have ever worked with were both moronic and lazy with less knowledge of the trade after several years of experience (in one case 14 years of experience) than most non-Black folk acquire in their first 12 months. That said, I have worked with exactly 1 competent black electrician and he was great to work with and did great work and was decently knowledgeable. He was really nerdy and friendly though, not like all the other Black person sparkies. Shout out to Big State.

Same as anything else in life. Do a little research, pick one that seems interesting to you with good career prospects, apply for jobs, then try it out. If you hate it then start the process over again.

I have a BS in mechanical engineering, a BS in electrical engineering, and minored in math. Shortly after graduating I realized working in an office is gay and most engineers are disgusting and frauds so I decided to try electrical work as I had always been interested in it. 8+ years later and I can safely say I made the right choice.

      Terrible opinion.

He will not increase his income.

He will not suddenly acquire more wealth.

He is getting older every year and his body is becoming weaker and weaker. He is now at the best condition he will ever be anymore.

You are essentially saying he should give up on lifting. Get out.

yes he does if he gets a job.

        >He is getting older every year and his body is becoming weaker and weaker. He is now at the best condition he will ever be anymore.
If he cannot afford to train right now, gym, protein and so on, then he is not going to avoid getting weaker is he? If he improves his financial situation so he can afford housing, gym and protein he is gonna afford making gains right?

I've been doing full body home workouts 3x a week and going out for cardio til I get a job.
Only got 2 dumbbells that my brother had from years ago, it's not much but it's better than nothing. When I plateau on this weight I'll probably try doing what anons above said with bags full of sand/rocks/books.
