The short answer is they spend fricktons of time training/eating/resting, and maybe do roids on top of that.

Look at plg and roon general homosexuals; they are both disgusting abominations on opposite sides of the ISTness spectrum. You can do both, and you will be healthier and better than the above. I do 5/3/1 routines along with "virtual coaching" (via Garmin) for 5k and 10k racing. The result is that if someone is stronger than me, I'm probably faster than them, and if they are faster than me, I'm stronger than them. Become un-moggable.

Cardio kill gains for skinny people that under-eat and over-move in their daily lives.

If you eat like a fricking fatso, of course it won’t kill your gains

Get as big adns trong as you can, either genetically (most of the examples you are thinking of are professionals athletes drawn from the genetic elite) or thru steroids. Now you are muscular.

Keep eating enough to maintain your muscle mass while building endurance as you train to work on endurance, while training heavy and frequently to maintain the body's "need" for muscle mass.

Eventually, depending on the variables (size desired, endurance desired, food, sleep, genetics/drug protocol, training models) you will be huge and have good endurance.

EPO, no joke, all the ufc muslimorussians are on it. If you want to have a sufficient gas tank and be natty you’ll need to look like Nate Diaz.

If you’re thinking about Tyson Fury when saying heavyweight fighters, keep in mind fat is lighter than muscle, and more muscles require more oxygen, that’s why he has a better gas tank that those black muscle freaks despite weighing the same.

Fat also increases your glycogen stores. You can see the endurance difference between guys who are shredded and guys with a bit of fat in every weight division.

Because the level of endurance they have is merely good, not amazing. Most people just have no idea how hard it is to be competitive at high level strength or endurance sports, and a high level rugby player is just conditioned to find the best possible equilibrium between these while being far less strong and having way less endurance than an athlete who specializes in either.

They train for endurance. Lighter weights and more reps for lifting. Spending hours in the gym training techniques for fighters. Running drills constantly for rugby players. Crossfit is naturally an endurance sport. When you train for endurance you are training a lot of stuff that is invisible to the naked eye. Muscles store more glycogen. Your cardiovascular system becomes more efficient at carrying energy and nutrients to the muscle you are constantly training. Lactic acid will build up slower and be removed faster. Your nervous system will keep sending signals for longer. It is all in the training. Also a lot of people use some form of PED.

If you want endurance than yes. If you just want muscle growth heavier weight work better. Instead they do anywhere between 50-70% of their maximum. It is pretty simple. How you train is how you will perform.

Guess what, they spend more time training than most people who can make 3-4 times a week for 1-1.5 hours. They actually do it as a mean of living. If you don't need to go work, but train it provides you all the time to do various exercises and proper recovery.

Heavyweight fighters fatigue after round 2, which is why people on gear have such an edge, as they can last several rounds with no problems
rugby players have short bursts of intensity, lots of idle time, much more idle time than soccer players
crossfitters get the body the activity produces. they are not training for an activity, they are doing an activity and getting the body it produces
