                Meanwhile when I ate 50g/day my shits were glorious. I guess it's a microbiome thing. Or maybe the fiber sources make a difference; mine were primarily from chia seeds, bran cereal and really high-fiber breads (with veggies 3x/day).

                I've gone as low as maybe 10g/day sometimes and those shits are pathetic and harder to push out.

        It absorbs water, and swells/gels up.
        It likely creates a gelatinous plug because too much is pumped into the intestines at once.
        If you want to confirm this: mix some psyllium husk (metamucil) in water, let it sit a bit, and you'll find a gel like substance has formed.

          that is soluble fiber there is a huge difference between insoluble fiber and that

          insoluble fiber doesnt do anything its basically inert and bacteria in your intestines break it down slowly. most of that scrapes your intestines and gets shit out as is, hence nuts corn etc showing up in your shit.
