      jogging serves absolutely no purpose in fitness, there is always a universally better tool available for any given goal. unless you are a freak athlete training for the olympics, then maybe your ketone burning level of exercise is at the pace of a jog rather than a brisk walk like normal humans. then maybe it fits in your regimen for some reason.

    low heart rate training.

    smart watch, keep heart rate lower than ~150bpm.
    easy because if your fatigued then your heart rate will want to run higher, so you just lower your speed or jog in shorter intervals.
    makes it near impossible to overtrain

    Lean into running more during the warm months. Running once it hits 50 degrees is hell on my ears. Nothing more euphoric than a shirtless run on a hot, sunny day.

      yeah I love running but I just want it to be fricking warm out again
      nothing worse than the temp being in the mid 40s so it feels too cold to just wear shorts but too warm to wear long pants once you get warmed up and you have to roll up your pants to the knees but they keep on wanting to fall back down

    I just run 2 laps around my neighborhood on my rest days, nothing too crazy but it’s a good way to work up a sweat while improving cardiovascular endurance on days where I don’t want to expend myself too much. Another thing I’ll do is get on my longboard and go as fast as I can for about an hour downtown; dodging cars and human obstacles improve my reflexes too, I think.

    I know IST isn't my personal diary but I need you guys to know that around last week after my run on heavy sets leg day, my legs gave up on me. my legs felt like boulders and each step felt like I had a knife stabbing my feet. I started feeling this sense of dread and had a realization that I'll never be the strongest. It came out of fricking nowhere. why the frick am I such a homosexual.

    I lift weights four times a week.
    I do cardio three times a week on the days when I'm not lifting.
    My lifts haven't suffered yet.

    It's that easy. Anyone telling you not to exercise your heart is a moron.

    It’s healthy to have a balance between strength training and cardiovascular training. This keeps you lean, athletic, and prevents your heart from giving out. I hat cardio and only get it through training martial arts.
