I've been on keto for week
>ketard
Yes I know, it's mostly to curb my sugar addiction but how the hell do you do this for long periods? Carbs made up most of my det before this and I can't afford to keep buy meat for every dinner

you dont because keto doesn't work as a temporary diet. the reason why people fail keto and why keto fricks up your body for long duration of time by making you slow and more bloated is because you depriving your body of its frontline fuel source (carbs) and replacing it with its a pseudo-auxiliary. its like voluntarily driving a car on the spare donut wheel that it came with.
ketosis has to be 'born' into for it to work properly like with eskimos who barley eat any kind of carbs and use fat as their natural fuel source.
the reason why keto doesn't work is because people cant stick with it long enough to let their body rearrange itself biomechanically.
tl;dr: keto wont work for anyone 'trying' it
I should have mentioned this isn't long term thing, I just want to do it for a month to reset my gut biome. I want to get rid of the ones that cause sugar cravings
then STOP EATING SUGAR
for 30+ days
it resets quickly
you can take probiotics in pillform for cheap
all babies are in ketosis due to high fat oxidation rates during brain development. your ignorance is stunning. go read a book
what an abomination of a post, you should probably just delete that
infants not weaned onto formula are in ketosis during brain development. and its not just eskimos you ignoramus
again, another tragic post, learn to read
ketones are the preferred brain fuel. learn to read
how is it possible to spew this much illiterate garbage this fast? re read my original post.
no. its wrong.
>ketosis has to be 'born' into for it to work
you are born into ketosis, you are already set into it.
go lay down
>like with eskimos
>conveniently cuts off the the rest where he implies you need a special lineage to go into ketosis
breast milk is high fat and neo nates go into ketosis
see
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15916931/
its not just eskimos
can you disprove that i said you are born into ketosis?
its not genetic if thats what you were suggesting
no suggestions
>Newborn brain is capable of extracting
and utilizing ketone bodies at a rate that is about five- to 40-fold greater than that of infant or adult brain.
>what an abomination of a post, you should probably just delete that
enjoy your heart attack
ground beef, avocados, organ meats are also really cheap, heart is the one that tastes the most like real meat (because it's mostly muscle)
you dont need to cut carbs entirely mongy
you simply need to eat LESS garbage ones
cut processed breads, snack cakes, etc
replace with handmade tortillas and whole organic steel cut oats
now you get your fix
lose weight, dont feel like youre starving etc
i would say the inflammation causing sneed oils are worse long term
First you got to be fat and bald. Then you run that diet to age 40 years in 10 while telling people you're actually more badass than they are because you drink bacon grease.
>The majority of studies, and especially the higher quality studies, showed that those who avoided meat consumption had significantly higher rates or risk of depression, anxiety, and/or self-harm behaviors

I did keto for the same reason. My diet before keto was toaster strudel, cereal, ice cream and pasta. I just started cooking my own foods. I ate more yogurt, learned to cook steak and chicken and ate that with broccoli. I did it for 3 months before introducing healthy carbs into my diet.
listen mayne, it's easy. here's what you do
>meat is good
>vegetables are good (green, cruciferous, etc)
>diary is good (in moderate quantities)
>avoid starch, yes even "complex carbs" so no potatoes or rice or memeshit like "steel cut oats" unless you eat those in very small quantities
>plant derived proteins and fats are good (nuts and avocados, etc)
>avoid pasta, bread, confectioneries and sweets, etc
>pretty much avoid sugar as much as you can
so no you don't have to go full moron and eat nothing but bacon, you can be a vegetarian and still be considered keto, just don't be moronic.
>avoid starch
beyond wrong
>beyond wrong
why?
potatoes are good
while I agree with you, they also are pretty much 100% carbohydrates and are turned into glucose in the body, which is what you want to avoid if you're trying to stay on a ketogenic diet. it's not "ketogenic" if you're not producing ketone bodies.
oh sorry, i forgot we were still talking about keto
starch is more fattening than sugar
