      Set the pad lower
      It doesn't need to be that high on your thigh

      This too, but they aren't really the same, especially if you want to do higher reps

      I always heard deadlifts are bad for your back, so I stayed away from them. Any truth to that?

        No. Deadlifts build a strong back, glutes, and hamstrings.

        Poor periodization can lead to injury, but the risk is there for any lift. Overall, lifting is the safest physical activity though. I have less back issues after 4 years of doing Deadlifts than I did before I started them. I've tweaked my back once or twice from going off program. But I tweak my back more doing mundane shit like yard work.

        Why doesn't this happen when I squat heavy though?

        Did this happen because he's weak and his knees can't take the force?

        Also, how do these injuries happen? Surely... surely he felt pain as he was doing it. Like the kind of pain your body sends to your brain to say "stop this before you have a nice day".

          Those are assisted sissy squats, they have a bigger range of motion than normal squats so they stretch more tendons. If you overload the exercise before you have properly stretched your quads and conditioned your tendons that happens.

    Wtf my gym has this chair and it has an empty space in the middle in it to avoid crushing your balls. I'm wondering how other manufacturers don't do this.

    You have the pad too high
    Lower the pad so it sits below your waist and balls
    Common mistake

    >inb4 I can’t do the movement if the pad is that low!

    Then decrease the angle and work on smooth, controlled motion while contracting your hamstrings and activating your flutes at the top of the exercise
